FR-S Review by Matt Farah

Matt Farah, the guy from Tuned (on the Drive network) and The Smoking Tire reviewing the FR-S: http://www.thesmokingtire.com/2012/w...k-of-the-show/

Edit: seems like we crashed the website so I found the video on the g4tv site: http://www.g4tv.com/videos/60043/mat...he-scion-fr-s/

yormaX 07-26-2012 08:54 PM

I think we crashed the site....

Guff 07-26-2012 08:57 PM

G4's website is much faster.

Decent review. Excuse me, I need to go for a drive now...

Lonewolf 07-26-2012 09:53 PM

It's a shame the car show isn't around anymore...I liked watching Adam and Matt banter while screwing around with cars.

Gaiakai 07-26-2012 10:01 PM

I've been waiting for Matt's review of this car. Thanks!

Kido1986 07-26-2012 10:10 PM

Had to bring up the painful reality of the roads in Orlando

Moshpit37 07-26-2012 11:12 PM

Damn, G4 is blocked at work... can't wait to drive my FR-S home to see this!

jkonquer 07-26-2012 11:18 PM

Is that adams motorsport in riverside? It sure looks bigger in the video

rice_classic 07-27-2012 12:44 AM

No wonder The Car Show isn't on anymore... ugh.

I'm in O-Town, too, but where I drive I don't necessarily have "no" curves (Winter Park/Maitland, I-4 downtown and going towards theme parks). Sure, not many but not no.

Still, I'm wondering why he chose to call out Orlando of all places. In Florida there're many opportunities to find some winding back country roads.

TonyJZX 07-28-2012 01:50 AM

i like matt and i like the car show but why is there so much repeated footage in the vid

Yup, looks like it. Haven't been karting there in awhile. Most fun karting track I've been to. Outdoor karting FTW!

Make that Three!! I'm in Orlando as well. I hear that there are some great roads out towards Clermont, I just need to find time to go and find them!

I lived in Winter Garden/Clermont for a while, there's plenty of nice backroads out there. Lots of curves to be had....

Those turns in Winter Park near rollins are fun but I mean backroads where there arent tons of people. Ive found one or two but they are short and not satisfying. Heading to Tail of the Dragon Wednesday :)

I know, me too. I was supposed to go out there today (haven't been before) but time isn't allowing for it. It was that or make the Tampa FRS/BRZ meetup tonight

Yea, I wanted to go to the Tampa meet up but I am on my way back from VA. We were up there on Vacation and won't be back till around 6pm tonight.

Nice review :happy0180:

Rampage 08-06-2012 09:48 AM

When did they start installing a transaxle in this car? No, wonder the price has gone up. The Miata has had no competition since it came out in 1989? Really? What about the S2000 and two generations of the MR2?

Mediocre review at best as he just spouted the same old rhetoric.

ZetaVI 08-06-2012 09:59 AM

Pretty good review.

I caught that too. Rear transaxle? Umm, maybe better preparations are in order.

Dammit I know, same here in Miami :(

ajay 08-06-2012 12:20 PM

It's not worth watching or reading any more reviews of the '86... They all say the same thing. :-)

BigFatFlip 08-06-2012 12:40 PM

Finally, somebody says something about the lack or lumbar support/adjustability! Everybody seems to be praising how comfortable the seats are, must be a big guy thing...

Jordo! 08-06-2012 05:46 PM

"Looks good, handles well, needs more power".

Standard review.

Jayde 08-06-2012 08:05 PM

I've always been a fan of Matt Farah and TheSmokingTire, ever since their very first episodes on Youtube a few years back.

After watching it, it wasn't as enjoyable as say something produced by TheSmokingTire or on Drive network (His show, Tuned), but otherwise not bad!

kyolml 08-07-2012 01:42 AM

He said the lowest center of gravity of any cars produced today!!!

I am sure that's not true, one of them come to mind per Insideline:

"Little-known fact? The Porsche 911 GT3's center of gravity is between the LFA and FR-S."
