Titan Performance banned??
I just ordered a set of coilovers last night, had great communication with Chris, just tried to pm him to get a tracking number only to find he is banned.
If anyone (mods) know what is going on please let me know so I can file a claim with Paypal if need be. :hitcomputer: |
he ignored the new vendor rules and got banned i guess
|
To contact them go to their website
EDIT: sales@titanperformance.net Sucks if they got banned. Hope everyone else follows the rules. |
Well, crap. I just ordered some stuff from them, as well.
|
^wrong Titan.
I got his email from the paypal transaction if anyone needs it, it's giuffrec@aol.com I emailed him, hope to hear from him quick... :mad0260: |

Chris is from Titan Performance, and I dont think he has a website as I tired searching him try : sales@titanperformance.com |

i have just been emailing Chris and his email is sales@titanperformance.net
according to Chris, he was banned for "bumping" too much when he merely replied his thread with "You have a PM! :) -Chris".... anyway he told me the Perrin bush GB is cancelled at this stage because of his inability to communicate. however we can still email him to discuss. thanks |
Thank you for making my life just a little bit more difficult. Don't really see why he was banned. He's the only vendor that replied to questions promptly. I've seen way too many vendors relentlessly just bumping posts without new info.

Also, I understand trying to curb the relentless 'BUMP!' posts but, if a vendor is replying to a legitimate question in one of their threads, there shouldn't be any beef there. Hoping it's not a permaban. Like @computertech01 mentioned, Chris was actually prompt in his replies and generally helpful. I cannot say the same for a lot of the other vendors I've dealt with on this forum. |
Hopefully I can easily get my refund on the bushing. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be prompt on your paypal payments.

bump! oops?
|
Tossed him a quick email to get a refund if it was cancelled. He said the group buy is still on for those that were interested. Also its a 1 month ban kinda disappointing as he was the one really good vendor who was all about the deals.
contact info is as follows email: sales@titanperformance.net facebook: www.Facebook.com/TiTANPerformance Hopefully when the bans up mods welcome him back. |
Thanks for the info guys, was really getting worried. I emailed him at the other address, we'll see where it goes.
|
Getting things cleared up with him right now through email, with the usual quick responses. I'll post up the results...
|
He was temp banned for 1 month due to a violation of the vendor rules.
|
I never saw TITAN post the words "bump", "to the top" or any of the other things other vendors on this site do.
If he was banned for responding to customer questions, then someone obviously has a completely different axe to grind. |
"replied to your pm" as a post is the same thing as "bump" and he did so like crazy. The rest of the vendors are following the rules so he needs to as well.
He wasn't answering technical questions, just making replies to bump his threads without writing "bump" or "to the top". |
its an unfortunate casualty of the new rules, but necessary. Most of the vendors were waaaayyyy out of line here, Im glad extreme and swift measures were taken.
|
Too bad, glad I got my pully today.
Chris is a good guy Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 |
He's not gone for good.

Wow, you think mods would warn first. I guess harsh punishment is ok as long as it is fair. I hope all the vendors with no price are getting banned.
The vendors with no price(or PM for deal) are 10x more annoying than a bump post. In fact I would like to see the rules to be extended to not allow "PM for deals". Seriously vendors, if you just post an honest price I am more likely to buy from you. I WILL NOT PM YOU FOR A PRICE. It just makes you seem like you are trying to screw people. Chris always had an up front price and was easy to deal with. |

The site owner talked with him directly about the rules, made sure he understood them, he said he did. Today he was allowed 3 bumps/replies in the classifieds, he made 15 in a VERY SHORT period. So, he understood the rules and one day later breaks them x5. So, he got temp banned. There was no reason to warn and the prior discussion served as a warning. Pricing is also required in threads now. Click here to see the current rules: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/announcement.php?f=45 If the vendors (and Titan was a major example of this) had been calm, created a single thread instead of a thread for every single part, and didn't post a ton of bumps (obvious ones or not) all day long those rules would have never been needed. I can't even tell you how many users complained about vendors doing this and it made the classifieds so cluttered I avoided going into them. Now hopefully they'll be easier to read and easier to find stuff in them, and with pricing required will save a lot of time for members. |
I agree the new rules are a good start, and that seems more than fair based on your description.
Keep fighting the good fight mods. I still hate "PM for deal" but know you can't really ban it. |

there were like 3 other vendors here who never replied PM when i was looking at coilovers..... |
Here's an idea, should we report vendors who do not respond to inquiries? Would the people who banned TITAN do anything about that?
Both of these were completely ignored: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ter#post234411 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ter#post234409 The second one even had a one word "BUMP" post after mine but that was deleted after TITAN got banned. You can't just assume vendors are doing the right thing by the community and vendors are obviously not permitted to show that they are either. I'm sure others have similar stories to tell. |
Understand that Chris was very active in every thread but he was very efficient with pm's and answering questions. I do want to support the poor chap on here.
Perhaps a 1 week ban would have sufficed. Just a suggestion. |

Want us to DELETE ALL the posts in vendor section? Is that make it fair for every vendors? So all the vendor's posts with before rule started will gone, zero, zip, notta. Let's see how many venders will agree w that. |

Whilst I would not favour deleting all posts, it's your forum. |

Anyone know if the second round of Perrin pulleys were shipped?

2 vendors haven't reply at all with another suddenly poped up to apologise for the late reply early last week and "promised to give me the price the next day" and i'm still waiting for the reply..... Chris (Titan) and one other were very prompt. |
yeah i must agree TITAN answers PMs very promptly!

When's good time to report, when vendor isn't replying back? Days? Weeks? Months? |
Quote:
sorry i mis-read your post. maybe a week or 2? or should we just have 1 thread of each vendor on this review page and we just share our feedback?? a way of communcation between the vendor and members as sometimes they might have messages that they would like to post (eg. going on holiday, won't reply for 1 week etc). |

Just my 2 cents
There def needed to be rules...its completely confusing as to what you can do and what you can't do when there aren't any rules. To the point you might do something as a vendor that might seem annoying or wrong by someone elses eyes on one forum and another forum they don't care. I replied back to the Admin about changing the wording from MSRP to MAP becuase MAP is the Minimum Advertised Pricing, its a standard pricing that a lot of manufacturers allow and what most people sell items at. Almost no one sells anything at MSRP if there is a MAP pricing that is allowed. Also I really do believe that us vendors should PAY to be a vendor. This cuts down on the chances of people getting scammed by some random guy who claims he sells parts and to just send them money. This also cuts down on people who just undercut pricings like crazy just to one up other vendors and gain a customer base. There are guys out there that price items lower than the amount that it would actually cost them to get the item (hence literally losing money instead of making money) just to gain a customer base which is an unfair practice. I would love to pay to be a vendor here, even if its something like $40 or $50 a month would cut down on fringe vendors randomly joining everyday. Vendors think twice before they have to spend money to sell items and it may reject some who might not think its worth it. Other than that, I like the rules. Keep up the good work. |
Wow didn't realize you could be a vendor for free on here, that is scary stuff!
Still working with Chris on an issue, hopefully it gets resolved today. I'll reserve my 'experience' until then... |
