damn.. but do whatever makes you happy! :)

btw, how much did the dealer give you for the GS300 (trade-in value)?

I traded-in a Ford Transit Connect. I still don't know why I bought one but I just like the euro-style vans. :)

^^This.
I had a 94 Integra as a beater while I was waiting for the FR-S to come out. Before I got the Integra I had a '05 SRT-4 but it was totaled by a crazy hail storm.

I'm keeping my Integra as my "drunk car" for now. Car I can take out to the bars and don't have to worry about leaving it overnight if and when I take a cab home. :happyanim:

They only gave me $9500 for trade in but the crazy thing is today i got a check for $527.29 because they under valued my car. Love Power Toyota in Irvine.

They gave me $18k... 2007 Tundra 5.7 CrewMAX. So my payments on the FR-S are $80 bi-weekly. Insurance, payment, & fuel for the FR-S is still less then just the fuel for my Tundra !!

4U-GSE 07-26-2012 04:59 PM

A 2006 Corolla XRS. I loved that car to death. I miss lift, the 8200 RPM redline and a clutch which gave perfect feedback. I wish I could have kept it as a beater car but I got the dealer to give me $7000 trade in on the car which had 110,000 miles and a back bumper which had a hole in it and needed to be replaced. Also I only have one parking space. :sigh:

man your FRS was almost free lol

Deebeaux 07-26-2012 05:14 PM

'08 xB and $2150 in cash. Don't regret it at all because I haven't driven the xB in over a year. Was actively for sale for over 6 months of that year, hopefully the dealer has better luck selling it than me.

So how are you going to tow that trailer now? That was a very nice truck i love the tundra (but i guess gas sucked on it).

05 mini s.. GOOD RIDDANCE!

Howeber 07-26-2012 05:24 PM

09 GTI, never thought a car could have so many problems

thorlius 07-26-2012 05:26 PM

'08 Corvette. Too expensive, and can't drive year round. Trade-in was more than the value of the FR-S but I had negative equity on the loan on it, so I still have a balance.

reeves 07-26-2012 05:36 PM

Haven't done it yet.. but I plan to trade in my '06 RSX Type-S whenever I finally get an FR-S or BRZ.

That is a pretty good trade in value....KBB is only showing $7400 is excellent condition...

'98 BMW 540i. -__- maintaining that car was a PITA.

A nice pile of cash. Asked if I wanted to trade in my heavily modded FJ Cruiser for it...I said hell no.

ST185RC 07-26-2012 05:56 PM

Limited Edition 1992 GT-Four RC, which had an engine fire on the highway. Was never interested in giving her up for anything, not even the FR-S. :(

Don't have the toy hauler any more - my toys (2008 Polaris Sportsman 700 X2) were stolen.. and I couldn't afford to replace. So we sold the trailer, and got rid of the truck so I could pursue my new love :)

Loved the tundra though... In terms of what you were getting (381hp, 400tq) the fuel use was actually quite good (but that's relative). if one day I decide to get a truck again, I wouldn't consider anything else. Just an amazing vehicle (and I've owned Ford, Dodge, Chev trucks in the past - never again).

The tundra remains the fastest vehicle in the current Toyota line up.. (and will be until the new supra comes out). Loved it when any ford/chev/dodge would show up at a stop light and I'd show them tailgate until the next light... always surprised them!

Everyone -

I'm curious to know how much you guys actually got from the dealer for your trade-in compared to the value KBB reports for trade-in.

This would be extremely valuable information for me, thanks!!

I believe blue book on my Tundra was $17k.. i negotiated to 18 based on extras (air bags, new tires, bed liner, trailer brake controller, etc). the real kicker was low miles.. I only had 76k kms on it..

Flat Black VW 07-26-2012 06:10 PM

Didn't trade in anything. I have trouble separating from my cars so as a 22 year old I currently own all 3 vehicles I have ever owned.
BRZ was by far the most expensive of the three though, in fact it costs about three times the other two combined.

FRSPirate 07-26-2012 06:14 PM

2004 Audi S4 <- Biggest mistake ever! I thought owning a turbo Z32 was a pain to keep up...Audi's are built like crap. I was waiting for the next thing to break on the audi. First it was an oil leak that the dealership tried to fix 6x...leaked until the day i traded it in, then it was a blown power steering line, then an O2 sensor, 2 MAF sensors, a radiator (dealers fault but i ended up paying for it), a/c compressor blew, 2pc flywheel exploded, rear pass window stopped working, and lastly the clips for the visors both broke off. Audi was such a pain to deal with, never going euro ever again! I got $7200 trade in but still owed $8k offset that with $4200 cash.

Deebeaux 07-26-2012 06:28 PM

Got $220 over "Excellent" trade-in value for my xB (according to KBB.) It was "Very Good" at best, probably closer to "Good" with the rock chips. I suspect buying 3 cars at this dealer in the last 5 years and bringing them 3 other sales and a lease in the last 2 years helped with that.

sbxjap 07-26-2012 06:31 PM

what?!? I would never sell my 95 Civic hatch... It's been through so much with me... I will bring it back to this former glory, and then SOME!

For my BRZ, I just put $5000 cash down and financed rest...

b_massey02 07-26-2012 06:44 PM

A very worn out 01 Pontiac Grand Am GT. Was nice once, but then its GM-ness began to take its toll. :-P

oso_25 07-26-2012 06:49 PM

Got $5000 for an 05 Chevy Colorado. It needed some work to get done like needed new tires, fuel injectors, and the power windows needed a fix.
