Fuse mod adds horsepower?

Has anyone experienced car fuse mod?
There is this product from Japan and claimed +3 to 5 horsepower just to change the fuse. It doesnt make much sense to me. What do you think?

oh its in Japanese lol

D_Thissen 05-02-2018 07:21 AM

I think you should give it a shot and report back.

Sold! How many fuses do our cars have? 30 or more, if I replace them all I will add around 100 HP.

Be sure to balance the fuses. If they are all on the driver's side, all that power will be delivered to that one wheel. No one wants a one-wheel-wonder.

Seems legit - it says magic on the box, and who would lie on the internet AND a box?!

Don't forget to include the magic tail light bulbs for more torque.

Tcoat 05-02-2018 09:18 AM

Oh here is another must have mod for a certain member in Germany! Fits right in with the rest of his magic power gains.
There is a dyno graph so it must be true!

Selling special fuses as an upgrade with claimed improvements is a thing with high end home audio.

Basically people pay up to $100 for a .50c fuse with black and gold fancy packaging.

The only difference is that electricity is in the direct signal path with audio so there "could" be an effect.

Target Audio in London probably sells them

venturaII 05-02-2018 09:28 AM

Wow...

Also there is a random grab bag of German words - I hear nothing gives you more street cred in Japan.

See Rauhwelt, Zweite Entwicklung, or, in thie case, Auto Messe Web!

I shall move to Japan and call my tuning shop EINZELHEITEN KIES BETÄUBUNGSMITTEL.

You only get the full HP gains if you use it with this:

Only if you soak the fuses in snake oil overnight.

Brink 05-02-2018 09:58 AM

Take all your fuses out for a better power to weight ratio.

There isn't a big snake oil police online for automotive the way it is in audio. People pay for things they BELIEVE are an improvement. By all means they must try to substantiate the claims if trying to make money selling the product.

LOL So next time somebody tells you that they gained HP through a fuse ask them to explain exactly what they think the science behind that is. Falls right into the same class as the magnets that people put on their fuel lines to "break up the fuel molecules so that it burns better".

JustSomeGuy 05-02-2018 12:38 PM

i wanted more weight reduction so i removed my battery and it did the 1/4 mile a whole second faster

Great, now I have to take my magnets off before the kickoff so you guys won't make fun of me.

venturaII 05-02-2018 01:32 PM

Then how am I getting 128 mpg?

Clipdat 05-02-2018 01:41 PM

Get rid of the battery too, it throws off the car's cornering.

Unsubstantiated anecdotal evidence from anonymous sources? That changes everything, count me in!

I have tried all of the "replacements" above, and surprisingly the cream cheese wrapper gave me the largest HP increase.

Well enough cream cheese opens me up as well so it makes sense.

I'm my tests, the Wrigley's gum wrapper barely beat the cream cheese, but it has to be Juicy Fruit.

There is a driving around San Francisco joke in there someplace.

I hate SF. I avoid going there at all cost.

Did you use a live round before trying the spent casing? If you had, I bet you would have known when the fuse blew! :bellyroll::bellyroll:

Quite simple. The bigger the fuse, the more electricity can run through the circuit. The engine makes power by running. The faster an engine runs, the more power it produces. The ECU controls how fast the engine runs. The ECU is fused ..... so, the bigger the fuse, the more current runs through the ECU, thus making the engine run faster, thus making more power.

Get it .......??

That makes sense! Since the size of the circuitry in the ECU would now be the bottle neck for the electrons to get stuck I am going to get a bigger ECU. If I use one of these I should be able to get 1,000HP

I suggest you start with the 3 deuce system, till you get used to the extra power ....
