As the title states, these are 18x8 O.Z. Ultraleggeras in black wrapped in 245/35 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2's. I've actually had these shoes for awhile. My tC was wearing them up until I realized both cars shared the same bolt pattern and offset. (Yesterday)

Even with this much rubber, they still managed to weigh 1.2lbs less per wheel than the stock setup.

They look amazing however, this is a bit wider than I'm willing to go...at least up front. Not at these power levels. (The tC puts down something like ~230whp and I was having major traction issues up front before going with the 245s) This car just doesn't feel right with that much rubber up front. Plus g-forces are loud as F**k. It wasn't as noticable on the tC but apparently this car has alot less sound deadening material between the wheel wells and me. I would not reccommend picking up a set of these.

I've got a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760s on order in 225/40 that should quiet things down a bit plus bring back the feel I'm looking for.

Looks great! I notice that you have mud flaps. I assume these are the OEM Toyota items?

I like the way they look...any drilling to mount? I have a little concern that the part that comes around the body panel might rub on the paint and after time with dirt getting into the space between the flap and paint.

Maybe closer pics?

Thanks!

looks good

Looks good, any rubbing in front with 245?

No rubbing.

I don't believe drilling was involved. They were a dealer added option when I picked the vehicle up. Along with window tint :iono:

Very very VERY nice rims.. just don't curb them... they tend to break easily...

I'm not 100% on the gold tho.. I know it's the whole OZ thing.. but maybe black powder coat?

frsguy707 08-30-2012 01:54 PM

Not yet that's the stock height hopefully getting coilovers soon.

Combined with like topic so that it is easier for people to research this wheel. Nice looking car!

Here's mine, just installed today. I couldn't resist the gold on blue after I saw @frsguy707's pics of the gold 18s in this thread

Suspension wasn't fully settled in these. I'll update with proper ride height next time I take some more shots.

I have more info and pics on my mod journal.

This is another of the wheel choices I've been considering...they look great on your red :w00t:

jeebus 05-06-2013 01:03 PM

FYI, those are not Continental DW. They are DWS. Totally different tire. The DW is a sticky, summer tire. The DWS is an all-season.

My friend that looks great, stock suspension? This is the only rim I have seen that looks OK to me at stock height. I was torn between these and RFP1's but something on the RFP1 just looks 'off' without some serious drop. Not that a wee bit of lowering would be detrimental ;)

I think it has to do with how these look 'larger' than the actual rim size while the RPF's look 'smaller'

Regardless thank you for your pics

Yep - full stock. Planning to drop 15-25mm at some point in the future. Step by step :D

Anyone have the Ultraleggera's in "crystal titanium"?

Thanks, they don't look as "chrome like", as they do in this picture, which is why was curious what they looked like in reality.

...

My photos are sort of reality :) - made right after I bought and installed them. Definetely not "chrome like" nor polished. I also thought they are more "shiny" based on all the official pictures. Suggest you have a "live" look at any OZs in this colour before buying.

Are those really 245/35-18 Tires. They look good. I'm thinking you are on to something. Might be a weight penalty over the standard 18" fitment of 225/40-18 for this car, but they look quite nice. I'm thinking real track freaks still want 17" wheels (lighter, and lower rotational inertia), but 18" wheels are definitely the choice for turning heads on the street. Looks great man.

duder 02-09-2014 06:52 PM

@DetroitJake yep, def 245/35. I def sacrificed a little performance for the looks here too. Once I'm ready to invest in R-compounds I intend to get a set of lighter 17s for track duty; these are for turning heads on the streets

Tire Size Decision - OZ Ultraleggera 18x8.0

I'm about to pull the trigger on this purchase, but the only thing holding me up is the decision on tire size. I'm looking at Michelin Pilot Supersports in 225/40R18, 235/40R18, or 245/35R18. I'd like to avoid any sort of stretched sidewall, but don't want tires so wide that they'll rub on tight corners or adversely affect handling without suspension mods. Any input would be much appreciated!

Panman 04-25-2014 05:48 AM

I've got exactly these wheels and am running 225/40/R18 Federal 595-RSR with no stretch (or bulge). Perfect fit from my perspective.

Car does not feel over-tyred, or under-tyred.

Yep, should be able to get a couple tomorrow

Brzzee 04-26-2014 03:11 AM

I'm running Michelin pilot SS in 245/35zr18. Great tire, light weight and works well on smooth tracks. The 35 series with stock suspension makes for a hard ride on the streets in north Texas.

Thanks! Hard decision here. Sounds like both combinations work well.

cpnslow 04-29-2014 08:42 PM

Well... I did it! I ultimately settled on the wider 245/35R18 (like duder's car). Should be delivered in a day or two and on my car by this weekend. I'll post photos.

Yamajee 04-30-2014 04:29 PM

Had the same OZ's, +48mm, square setup, 225/40 michelin pilots, perfect!

dem00n 04-30-2014 04:32 PM

8 wide?
225, learn from your mistakes, don't hide them.

olorin 04-30-2014 05:23 PM

My understanding is that 225 PSS run wide anyways so they would be the best bet on 8". I am going to put PSS 225/18R40 on my 18x8.5 SSR GT F01 wheels when they arrive tomorrow.
