Hawaii Member Roll-Call

Wow, since we get our own forum, I thought I'd take the chance to start a thread were people can sort of introduce themselves since we (well most of us, sorry neighbor island guys) live on such a small island anyway we're bound to run into each other eventually.

My name is Joey and I have a 2013 Subaru BRZ Premium in World Rally Blue, and no not the one at Pearl Harbor haha.

Hayashi 07-24-2012 12:44 PM

Hi, names Reyn (pronounced Rain haha). Don't think I have any pics other then when I picked it up, but with what is going on it soon I will have some shortly. :happyanim:

Lets get some threads going so they don't regret making a Hawaii forum for us haha.

Philz0r 07-24-2012 04:55 PM

Phil here. I own an Asphalt FR-S. Live in the Kailua/Enchanted Lake area. I'll see if I can get some picks up later.

Hachi6 07-25-2012 06:00 AM

Ricky.
born and raised here in kaneohe.

if anyone sees the frs in my avatar give me a honk.
(Toyota emblems, jdm sidemarkers, hids, black rims, tint and as soon as the slow boat from Japan gets here I'll be TRD kitted :p)

haven't seen many frs' yet. 2 to be exact. One asphalt in town, and one silver one at leeward bowl a while ago.

Anyways. I'm excited to have a place to chat with frs/brz ers.
Tell all your friends...

No, I'm originally from the Big Island, I went to Konawaena.

bigmatz 07-25-2012 10:55 PM

Hi everyone! Don't own an FR-S yet, but definitely an enthusiast! I work at Servco, so I see my share of FR-S units. Can't wait until I pick one up for myself!

Hachi6 07-26-2012 04:37 AM

Sorry.

Cory not Joey lol.

One of the two BRZs sold on the Big Island so far. Mine is the WRB in Hilo, I understand the other is on the Kona side. Let's see if I can attach some photos. Will include photos of my other ride, a 1990 Miata that i've had since it was brand new.

Hahaha, do i know you? I'm super bad with names, but I see your car all the time at windward city.

Philz0r 07-27-2012 05:13 AM

You can usually find me in the Dillingham, Kailua, or Aiea area.

FML 07-27-2012 05:35 AM

whats up guys. Nice to see we have our own forums now you can find me cruzing around Aiea/Mapunapuna area. I work at Servco. I really wanted a white brz but ended up with this:

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...kim/FRS013.jpg

I have no regrets.........

Sigh-on-Rice 07-27-2012 01:35 PM

I wanted a white BRZ Limited also. But I'm glad I didn't try for it. Otherwise, I'd still be car-less now. :iono:

I got Whiteout FR-S. Usually drive only to and from work. Between Hawaii Kai and Downtown. About once a week, I go cruise around by myself, so that I can use 100% of my hard-to-get free time driving it.

This car is so perfect (other than some weird noises it makes), I spend all my free time driving it and I didn't even spend time taking pictures of it (other than 2 pics I took on the day I picked it up). :eyebulge:

You must be the Whiteout I see around Hawaii Kai every so often. Awesome color!

There is another white FR-S in Hawaii Kai that I see sometimes. If it's at 6:30 am heading to town and 4:00 pm back in Hawaii Kai, then that might be me. :)

Getting the door braces too.

I seen you on release day and recognized your face. I went to castle. Not too sure if we were in the same grad class or not.

Sal asked if I knew you when I went to pick up my car. Lol.

I work in windward city. HORRIBLE parking lot so I try to park by coworkers always.

Hachi6 07-28-2012 09:18 PM

I was one of the unlucky raffle losers for the first brzs. I was going to wait but didn't know how limited the frs was going to be. On release day it was one of the few left so I had to jump on it. Had I known they were going to be readily available I may have waited for a white frs...

But if I had a white one I would prob be wishing for a black one...

Meh, i love my car.

if you dont mind me asking how much was everything?

Hachi6 07-29-2012 03:35 AM

Like 2gs. Shipping was 350 ish...

Ordered it painted too so should be able to just bolt it on and go. That makes it worth it to me. Plus trd quality should be as good as factory. I just hope they dont come out with it as an option later. Than it will be like the "action package" on the celica and it will become just like seeing a stock frs.

ryansb 07-29-2012 03:49 AM

Autocrossed BRZ first time

My son drove the BRZ yesterday. I don't have official times but I think he got 1st in CS.

It poured during my heat (in the Miata) so my times were terrible. That's how it goes in Hilo. My son ran the last heat so by then the track dried out.

There was a FRS and BMW Z something, both automatic, also in CS. The FRS driver used to drive a FWD car before so he was at a disadvantage to my son who learned to drive and competed previously in the Miata.

The Miata is supercharged so it's quite a bit faster but much harder to drive fast than the BRZ.

Sorry, no video. He worked a corner in my heat and I was the starter when he drove.

I'm assuming you guys ran on stock tires? Awesome job either way taking first. Me and my co-driver took third and fourth respectively in CS here on Oahu. About two seconds off the leader in a Mazdaspeed Miata on R-comps. Pretty pleased with the results, considering this is only my second event in a RWD car.

Yes, used the stock tires. My son says the BMW was faster. We have a new timer but no computer software so it was just an expensive stopwatch and could not post the times for each driver. They should have the official times posted soon on the BISCCA web site.

Were you there for the first heat to see me slipping and sliding thru all the puddles in the Miata? I had too much tire pressure but forgot my gauge so I couldn't adjust it between runs. We switched cars for the fun runs so my son got to drive both cars in the dry.

That's an amazing coincidence. I hope her tutoring helped.

My son will be back to college by the next autoX and the Miata should be sold by then so it'll just be me and my BRZ!

markmatley 08-02-2012 10:00 PM
