and I absolutely LOVE it.

Have you ever had a car this uninsulated ??
It's things like this that make a truly raw sports car.

I think it's more the tire than the car but I typically have pretty sporty cars and appropriate tire compound. It's a good feeling until you buy new haha.

.....and the rain on the roof reminds me of when I was a kid, sleeping on a porch with a tin roof ..... :)

Uninsulated ?? ...... yes, I had a 1937 Chevrolet pickup, that the floor board was half rotted out ...... I could even feel the kicked up sand and gravel ......:sigh:

Base model 1964 Dart. metal dash, metal door interior panels, metal wheel well liners, metal ... well everything. The mats were not even carpet but just light vinyl laying on a metal floor. Zero sound proofing anyplace in the car. Loud as hell inside when going down a gravel road.


By today's standard these cars are indeed "raw". By the standard of even just 20 years ago they are as far from raw as you can get.

When I gutted the rear of my interior the noise of the road got 10x worse. Then when I got the MPSS tires, it got 10x worse again! Those things take the sand and rocks and just pick them up and toss them under the car! I don't mind, I think it's funny

I think its also the metal undertrays that makes the noise louder when things hit it.

I only noticed pebbles etc after getting pilot super sports, which are quite a bit stickier than stock.

Speaking of dirt ....... have I told you the story about the time I got into a mud wrestling contest with a female cousin ......??

It was a hot summer Sunday afternoon, back on the farm, and we were about 13 years old (at that age when the girls were as big or bigger and sometimes as strong) as the boys. We were on the side of the barnyard, during a family gathering and she started picking on me. Yes, SHE started it.

So, it turned into a wrestling match and we rolled down into a hog wallow. Needless to say we got quite muddy and since she was losing, she got pissed and stormed up to the picnic area all covered with mud. I jumped into the cow trough and washed off ...... so, when I joined the group, I didn't look too bad.

All the parents blamed me for beating up on my female cousin......:sigh:

Three years later the "wrestling" match with the cousin took on a whole new meaning.

Yes; it was a motorcycle.

We had a Chevette while living in upstate NY, if you lifted up the floor mat you could see the road lol.

The 86 platform is quite polite and quiet compared to what I grew up with. Mine didn't ever feel quite right until I made it louder.

I would list the ones I could see the ground from but don't have the tie! The Chevy Citation I had was probably the worst though. No floor in back seat or rear at all. Nice piece of plywood placed across the drivers pan so I could keep my feet dry.

Well through the 70s and 80s that was questionable at best. I finally said enough when the whole rear passenger door skin flew off at 60 MPH.

I refuse to tell THAT story, on the grounds that it may ....... may ...... may ...... :(

That was a different cousin.

You see, I had "local" (Ohio) cousins, where the first cousins were off limits ..... but, second and further removed cousins were fair game.

Then I had West Virginia (out of state) cousins, that first cousins were fair game.
