Dealer Installed Badges
I was thinking... lol since so many people hate the Scion brand/Badge.
How many would be willing to pay to have dealer installed Toyota Badges put in it's place? Right when you take delivery of your car. I wonder if there's any legal issue to do something like that? |
Those badges would probably have to be imported from other countries so thats not really an option. Having the deal de-badge my car though is something I'll probably ask for.
|
Also we're talking bout entire SCION badges here. Not only front & rear badges, but also airbag cover, floor mats, somethings on the shift knob, keys & keyless, and just just goes on and on. How much do you think all those gonna cost?
|
How much money? Cost is everything.
$60? Sure. You know what's odd? The front bumper of the Celica doesn't come factory* with the Toyota emblem. You have to buy it separate, and Toyota charges about $50 for that. *If you buy the front bumper from the parts division that is, of course it comes on the entire car as a whole. |
The only way I'd be dissatisfied is if the Scion managed to perform less admirably than its Toyota or Subaru counterparts. I sure wouldn't spend any money to swap to a Toyota/Subaru badge. I might consider de-badging if they're only adhesive badges and if removing them would clean up the look.
It's not like you can change the make on your registration, you'd just be driving a transvestite of a car around. |
I would probably debadge it my self only for aesthetic reasons. Anyways why is there another thread about this? Just beating a dead horse starting another scion vs toyota debate which is bound to happen again.
|
Is this a serious thread?
|
I don't think this would work very well, way to much work
|
I know this would never happen in real life, he's just asking a theoretical question.
|
disapproved.
|
Idk about Scion, but some dealers will de-badge the exterior emblems of your car if you request it. However, you're still stuck with the steering wheel, seat logos, logo on navigation os and etc.
|
The dealer will do anything you ask them to...for a price.
|
I wonder if you bring a couple other friends who are also looking to buy the car with you.. will they really bend over backwards to give you a great deal. Like... 3-4 others with you. O_O
Imagine that~ "Yo sales man. All of us want to buy a car. Srsly." |
^Im'a try that.

As for op. . . I'm thinking no badge would look cleaner. :bonk: |
About as real as a hypothetical thread about a Car they have yet to build can be lol.

Minor stuff like this you are better off doing your self; dental floss, some goo gone and a hair dryer. |

^^
Another cleaner I recommend is the Honda Pro cleaner. It's more of a foam substance so it saturates the area better and doesn't evaporate. The odor isn't that strong and is originally intended for cleaning the ABS plastics on motorcycles so it won't scratch the clear. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...ndacleaner.jpg |

I wonder..just because you take the badges off, does that no longer make it a scion? I feel like if you don't want a scion that bad then don't buy the car. I don't really see what the big deal is.

People will argue that this car is a Toyota car. Everywhere else in the world besides Canada/USA it will be a Toyota. So there is nothing wrong putting Toyota badges on it since that is what it is at heart. |
Yeah, I am going 100% debadge if I can. Its not because I am embarrassed of scion, its that it looks better as clean as possible, im personally nor a fan of any kind of branding on anything, and there's always the welcome unknown exotic appeal

It's roundabout logic. People are gonna do what they think looks good. Everyone else's opinions don't matter except for those of the one buying the car. Be it rice, or putting a Lexus badge on it. Sometimes it's ok to disagree. |

You don't make a point. My point because you obviously missed it, is it's stupid to argue. I highly doubt anyone is going to make anyone else change their mind about badges. It's a personal choice to make the car you want to make, whatever that is. So posting other people's opinions even a million of them won't change anything, because opinions are like A-Holes everyone's got one. |

1.) How many Toyota parts go into the FR-S? 2.) How many Ferrari parts go into the FR-S? |

Yes I made a point because my point was a factual statement that some people on this forum would argue that they would swap badges to JDM Toyota badges if it came out as a Scion. Do you have any evidence that there won't be members on here swapping out the badges for Toyota versions? What was your point again? :iono::iono: |

Seems my point has been made. |

It's called sarcasm. Yes people are going to do a lot of things, put big useless wings it on and paint it pink. So what? Telling them they are wrong for doing it won't stop them. Just like telling people to badge/debadge isn't going to stop them from doing what they want. You sound like you just want to argue and you're not even sure about what. |
Color me impress, you guys are awesome at arguing. (Sarcasm)
