Most reliable catback exhaust?

Had a long discussion with some tuners and decided i dont want to go UEL/FD not until ive mastered the car’s limits stock at the track. But since im itching for better sound and cover the artificial cabin sound generator, id like to settle with a quality exhaust that should last pretty much as long as OEM as i plan to stick with this for the car’s lifetime. Im just talking on quality since ive heard inividias eventually “burn out”. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how an exhaust will "burn out", unless you're referring to like... muffler packing? You can't really go wrong with any reputable catback, essentially the most basic exhaust component since it doesn't involve any sensors and has little impact on performance. More or less comes down to sound , build quality/fitment, stainless or titanium, and of course price. It will be Be very hard to fit a suitable catback to work with an oem header and also an aftermarket one down the road. I'd personally recommend an axleback muffler delete until you begin upgrading other components upstream. They're pretty cheap and the Nameless, that's the company name, trackpipe I used sounded great with the stock header.

Cant go wrong with perrin products. If you add UEL will sound neat. For cabin sound you can add inlet house to the engine

Ive read some posts on people saying the q300 eventually loses its bass rumble and sounds rattle can after long use. Will there be any drawback to an axleback muffler delete? Maybe i can buy an extra muffler for 100 usd and keep my stock

It will be louder, and you wont have a muffler?way lighter than oem too, With the stock everything else I don't think it will be too raspy.

Amuse makes a pretty good one for us. Lightweight and durable.

If you can swallow the price.

Almost any of the exhausts using a large suitcase style muffler will work. Get stainless and roll on. If you don't want a packed muffler there is corsa and flowmaster.

I’d suggest looking at some of the JASMA certified exhausts, as the certification specifically refers to maintaining noise suppression at a specified level over time due to the breakdown of muffler or silencer packing. I have a Blitz Nür Spec R stainless steel exhaust that’s JASMA certified and sounds great with my ACE 4-2-1 Type-A 350 equal length header, although it will be on the quiet side if the rest of the exhaust is stock. The only possible downside is that it’s a single exit exhaust, which may not be the look you want. Good luck!

Nur Spec R is quiet? Got any sound clips with your set-up? And are you stock FP?

Yep, in my opinion it’s very tame. My system consists of an ACE 4-2-1 Type-A 350 equal length header, Motiv catted front pipe, and the Blitz Nür Spec R stainless steel exhaust, and there’s no drone and conversation is easily held at any RPM. At full throttle it’s got a great bark and a refined sound, but I suspect without the header it would be extremely quiet. I don’t have any clips of the car running through gears and it’s been put away for the winter, but maybe I can shoot something for you in the spring.

We have the CSG Touring86 Exhaust that has been on boosted cars seeing over 300WHP without any degradation over the past 2.5 years of heavy track use.

I'm a huge fan of the Nameless Axelback myself. With stock header and front pipe, the tone is nice and focused, good rumble and zero drone. Not super loud if you go with the 5" mufflers but can get pretty loud if no mufflers. Low rasp as well.

Nameless is also an incredibly reputable company that makes quality parts.

I was looking into that exhaust while back... but I couldn't really swallow +$800 for single exit exhaust, so in the end, I went w custom exhaust.

I have a 3" Perrin resonated cat back and it is just too loud with an uncatted header and hi flow catted front pipe. It just sounds terrible. When I had stock parts in front of it, it was nice.

I've given up on aftermarket cat backs. I should be able to build what I need for under 400. Going to add a vband to the stock muffler so I can swap it out for tracks that are strict on sound.

A handful of makers offer lifetime warranty, but usually it covers things like welding.

Aftermarket exhausts get louder over time bc the fiberglass packing get blown out. OE exhausts are quiet because they use baffles and large canisters to suppress sound.

Did you buy Garlands turboback exhaust? I have a ptuning overpipe+frontpipe that you can connect to the turboback for a full headerback exhaust

Haha, yeah. I'll PM you so we don't derail this thread totally.

Try not to get a catback that is too loud before headers. Headers increase the volume significantly.
