At first, I thought they looked alright, but then I realize that they take away the low profile provided by the regular hinges. Plus I just wanted to post this pic. :D

That's because the Lambo ones open straight up, while aftermarket ones open on an angle.

Lol that's hilarious. But yea I agree. If its not a lambo, it shouldnt have lambo doors

Gen 07-23-2012 12:31 PM

Even if it was cool to put lambo doors on, I'd be too worried about rolling the car, being unable to open the door and burning to death.

Hey, if I'm 6'7" and I can still manage it, then everyone else should be able to, as well. :P

This actually looks like it would make ingress and egress easier. Would consider doing to my car, despite the stigma associated with it. :iono:

KaliKev 07-23-2012 09:13 PM

Hate to say it, but it kinda looks good with this car...

Enilder 07-23-2012 09:32 PM

You need them in Asia. Tight parking spaces you know?

Jokes aside, I would stay away from those things. I heard they are contagious.

greenguy101 07-23-2012 10:02 PM

A little piece of me died inside after seeing these doors! Soooo wrong!!

Scooby 07-24-2012 06:20 AM

These things are inevitable

Neilus 07-24-2012 06:40 AM

I wonder if it is still as safe as the normal doors? Could you still get insurance for it?

Yea im pretty sure lambo's with the vertical doors and like the merc with gullwing actually have explosive charges in the door with sensors that detect if the car has flipped for that very reason.

Somehow i doubt a $300 ebay kit provides the same safety level :bonk: hahaha

No because they open outwards then up. Doesn't the window go down a crack once you pull the handle?

armythug 07-25-2012 10:58 PM

Im not afraid to say it. It looks ok. Would I do it to my 86? No. :w00t:

In the photo the windows are all the way down so I though maybe it always had to be that way :)

enjoi23 07-26-2012 01:07 AM

If the price is right, I wouldn't mind doing this..

kill yourself.

boredom.is.me 07-26-2012 01:31 AM

I'm actually caving in too...but, I don't have the car so...I guess I don't have to kill myself.

...coming from the guy that posted the "played out" photo...

dori. 07-26-2012 06:18 AM

Dunno why there's always haters for this type of thing, even when it's well done.

You know, since every 86 has to be a drift/auto x/track monster with no cosmetic mods...

I wouldn't do it to my car but I'm not gonna hate to hate. Some people just want their cars to be unique

boredom.is.me 07-26-2012 10:58 AM

This guy wants sliding doors! :bellyroll:

While I think Lambo doors are silly, if you are upside down in a car, you are going to be crawling (or more likely dragged out, being knocked out and all) out of a broken window either way since it is pretty likely to be stuck shut from being all bent up.
