Dealership Visit
I have a FRS wanting to get some things fixed under warranty..
However, looking at the dashcam videos. This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9Dg...ature=youtu.be The guy parking my car scratched my front lip, you can't see it unless you are below the car. Should it be fair I let the dealership know? And this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-nn...ature=youtu.be I can't really tell, but at around 1:00, they rev the engine, and around 1:40, you can hear the RPM goes up, but can't tell how much by the sound.. At 1:55, you can hear someone say burn out that clutch.. Not sure if these videos are of any concern? Thanks! |
Were these recordings from a dealership employee parking your car? I'd bring in proof and see what they say if so.
|
It sounded to me like the other guy was mocking him for struggling to get your car on the lift.

The only concern is the front lip.. there are some slight scratches under it. Should I be too concerned? These are employee at the dealer. |

Were these videos taken of your car ...... or did you just pull them off the internet .. ?? If you took them ....... what of it ....... what do you want .....?? If they are examples that other people posted and you're afraid that a dealership is going to mess up your car ...... just hope they don't and if they do, ask them to fix it. Relax ...... it's just a car ........ not plastic surgery on your SO's face. ;) humfrz |
Video from my car. Just wish they didn't scratch my front lip..
|
do you have pictures of the front lip? How badly is "scratched" ?
Also, that reving doesn't sound like anything insane. Although the person in the car shouldnt have been doing it im not sure if the dealership would do anything about it. It sounds like maybe the driver was revving to 3500-4k max which isn't much in the grand scheme of things. |

98% of the FR-Ss front lips have scratches ...... 1% never take them out of the garage ...... the other 1% just haven't looked lately ...... ;) I'd suggest you save your concerns for more important things .......:) humfrz |
Also i want to mention, in that video where you suspect the car had just been scratched it was awful quiet. I've accidentally scrapped my bumper like twice parking and coming too close to the curb and you 125% hear it. I dont think there is one FRS out there that has never scraped the underside of the bumper or their lip, as long as it isnt mangled I wouldnt worry. Also, where in VA are you from? :D

So, now, just how much time are you and your buddies going to spend laying on the ground, looking up at the front of your car .....?? :D humfrz |
Yeah, I am super careful to not scrape mine and yet it's still pretty scraped up. Can't see it from above, out of sight and out of mind.
Even if the admitted they scraped it and you got it painted there's almost 100% chance you'll just scrape it yourself any way probably even worse. Now if it was mine and any other part of the car that was visible from standing and looking at it, they'd be repainting that part and throwing in a few years of oil changes as a extra "sorry". I'd just let this one slide. |

Is this your first new car .. ?? humfrz |

Lets just say when I first got my license my mental judgment of the distance between the underside of my vehicle and curbs was below average. |
Northern Virginia . Just got this RS1.0 a month ago as a CPO. I had a silver one earlier.

Scraped my front end once, loud as hell totally scared me. Ended up being just a couple tiny scratches I put some touch up paint on but I'm way more careful now.
Also when you take your car to the dealership for service don't they make you sign something that says they're not liable for anything at all that happens to your car while they have it? |

The fact that all FRS' have scratched bumpers is completely irrelevant.. If you are not OK with the scratch that's totally fine. If you scratch your own car.. that's one thing but I think the last place where this should happen is at the dealership you paid or pay money to for the car. If the scratch is not too bad and you actually care.. it's within reason to ask for them to touch it up at least. |
Lip is done. I will buy it pm me. Get your dealer to replace it.:D

Not worth the aggravation.
Neither were malicious. |
