2018 BRZ Pricing Announcement

The pricing announcement for MY18 BRZs just posted. A little excerpt:

"Last year, we made numerous changes for all models to the interior appointments, suspension and wheel upgrades, exterior
updates and horsepower and torque upgrades on manual transmission models. This year, we are including additional feature
content on 2018 BRZ models:
• BRZ Limited models receive the updated SUBARU STARLINK™ 7.0-inch Multimedia Navigation system with dual USB
ports and standard Apple CarPlay™, Android™ Auto and Pandora ® app integration.
• BRZ Premium and BRZ Limited equipped with manual transmission get a high-grade leather-wrapped shift lever
handle with a gray shift indicator,
• BRZ Limited models with automatic transmission get a high-grade leather-wrapped shifter handle,
• All BRZ models will get new automatic headlight activation when the wipers are turned on, providing added safety
and convenience,
• All BRZ models will now feature One Touch Lane Change, and heated exterior mirrors, and
• Welcome lighting when approaching or exiting the vehicle is now standard on all BRZ models.
Pricing remains very competitive, with modest MSRP increases for the new model year.
• BRZ Premium 6MT = $25,595 ($100 increase over ‘17MY)
• BRZ Limited 6MT = $28,445 ($800 increase over ‘17MY)
• BRZ Limited with Performance Package = $29,640 ($800 increase over ‘17MY)
The Destination and Delivery charge is $860 for 2018 BRZ (+ $150 for retailers in Alaska). Retailer delivery will begin at the
end of January, 2018.

Hope that helps anyone on the fence of what year to buy!

Can't believe the tS Price wasn't announced!

davidvanchu 12-01-2017 12:44 PM

Any idea when tS pricing will be released?

trippinbillies40 12-01-2017 12:59 PM

At this point, I'm guessing after the first of the year. Looking like they're hitting retailers later than originally estimated.

My dealer told me hopefully April as I said in the other thread.

Any idea what the two USB's for the HU are? If two then it probably wouldn't be compatible with the earlier MY, unless the extra USB port is on the face of the HU.

Right?

airjonny 12-01-2017 02:29 PM

Still waiting on Toyota to release something on the 18MY.

Edit: Also included in the package are unique 17- in x 7.5-in black aluminum alloy wheels.

Toyota say something I'm giving up on you!

Not sure where the second one is off the top of my head but I do know it's not on the face of the headunit.

Richard_BRZ 12-01-2017 02:45 PM

Wonder the cost of the HU from Subaru on its own, wish that was standard on MY17...

That's how much the 2015 Series.Blue cost. If you actually pay that much prior to faxes and fees, you're doing it wrong. I got mine for $27,350.

Parts pricing isn't out yet, but I looked up pricing for a '17 head unit. Let's just say go aftermarket :)

Damn. BRZ site says the current ones are gray while showing some pics with black wheels. Thats misleading.

Geese1 12-01-2017 03:58 PM

Been seriously considering ordering a BRZ w/ Performance Package at the end of February (for delivery hopefully at end of April / beginning of May. Kind of disappointed in the larger than expected jump in price of this particular package, but I'm sure I'll be able to get a good deal when it comes time to order.

The bigger question is getting a chance to drive one before I buy. BRZs and 86s are almost non-existent where I am, not to mention I don't really want to drive one in the middle of winter on the stock tires.

Eh, YMMV but it can likely be had for 3-4k less before TTL.

Will heavily depend on a bunch of factors, but I know I got it for less and many others did as well (for 17, obviously).

Really that bad? Ouch.

spike021 12-01-2017 04:01 PM

Lol Subaru get your shit together. Originally for the 17s we thought the PP wheels would be black. Then it turned out PP wheels were gunmetal and it was only the Series Yellow that would get them in black.

Key words right there^ This is why I wage my own personal war on speculation on details. It is fun to speculate but when people start throwing things out as facts and then it turns out not to be accurate then everybody get's all bent outta shape.

To his defense, Subaru did release pictures of non-Series.Yellow PP cars with black wheels on them, and we did just put out a press release saying the new ones will be black. :)

sfdai0 12-01-2017 04:33 PM

Seems like the premium might be considered a better deal with just a 100 increase in price.

Edit:Wait, the new HU isnt included in the premium? Hmmm....now i dont know.

This exactly^ @Tcoat :) While it was speculation, it was based on Subaru's own marketing materials, which I was just commenting on with regards to what trippin mentioned :)

No new HU, but you do get welcome lighting and heated mirrors lol

Kordless 12-01-2017 06:05 PM

I estimate TS Pricing will be closer to 35 than 30 at this rate. I doubt you can get a discount off the TS cars like you can the normal limited and premium cars. Which makes the TS effectively 7-10k more than the normal models :/

Clutch 12-01-2017 06:42 PM

Now I just need to know what the 50th anniversary color will be and I should be ready to place an order...

cjd 12-01-2017 07:15 PM

I hope this means I can order a replacement car now! Weird that Toyota didn't bump prices while Subaru did. Oh well.

Which just goes to show that even Subaru can't be trusted until the car is on the lot, in the flesh.
Well, in the steel.
Oh, and aluminum.
Better not forget plastic and glass as well.

Bet the marketing materials have fine print someplace that says "product may not be exactly as shown"

Nakioki 12-04-2017 06:08 PM

I thought the MY17s are heated mirrors... I know mine is. I actually just found out last week. Leaving my apt in the morning for work. My windows were all fog'd up. So I turned on the defogger, then I tried wiping the driver side side mirror and it was very warm.

Although, I do like the welcoming light and one touch turn signal.. D'AH!

The MY17 Limited has heated mirrors.

I agree about the one touch turn, maybe it will be a relay we can buy from Subaru.

TapTurn gets you both features, and then some.

They probably mean on the premium model, my 13 limited (purchased in 12) has them too.

SmartTap is $30-50 cheaper with the same features, but has a 3 year warranty vs. lifetime with TapTurn. Still haven't decided which to go with. Not sure they fail enough to spend the extra money.

sfdai0 12-04-2017 11:15 PM

hmmm for someone that doesnt care about carplay or android auto, I think the '17 might save me a decent chunk. One touch turn and welcome lighting are also things I could live without.

Yeah well, "big" corporate vs first to market feature innovator. I really hope it's licensed.

Lebby83 12-05-2017 09:13 AM

Has anyone heard of when dealers will be able to put tS orders into their system?

i totally forgot about this. and i want one haha... doesn't it allow welcoming lights too? or was that another maker. I remember seeing it.

Cause I know when I get near my brz, my interior lights turns on. I swear all these MY18 features exists in the current models... just a simple relay can turn them all on. Cept heated mirror though, mine has it haha.

Interior lights are default on all m/y as far as I know. Certainly my 2014 had that feature. That's different than the approach lights, and yes - TapTurn will turn on the side markers and such on approach, and has one-touch-turn, which sounds like the added 2018 features.

Also lets you run all LED bulbs (possibly inherent in the 17+) and gives you wigwag, strobe, and other odd/interesting/useless/fun/showy light features. The afore-mentioned SmartTap seems to have all the same features, just a lot newer to the market (and unsure whether it's an illegitimate clone or not.)

Geese1 12-05-2017 07:25 PM

I remember before the 2018 STIs came out there was already a leaked document showing the invoice cost of not only all the trim levels, but also, I believe, the various accessories. This allowed people to make a more informed decision when buying the car. Does something like this typically get released for the BRZs as well?
