Is there a rear bumper delete option...? That's a lot of extra money for seats and a less comprehensive gauge package. They still manage to slip in the fancy radio and pointless push button start though. It's becoming pretty clear that Toyota has no idea what to do with this car.

lonewolfworks 11-30-2017 10:14 PM

OMFG YES!!!

I've been watching the Toyota Japan website for this specifically to drop!!

Slammillionaire 11-30-2017 10:24 PM

It's beautiful

Doesn't matter since it's not coming to Canada, but I'm sure you knew that already.

airjonny 11-30-2017 10:43 PM

This interior is everything I want and more

PetrolioBenzina 12-01-2017 12:14 AM

207 hp.

$43,462.63 US bucks. You could build that yourself with the extra 14 grand.

humfrz 12-01-2017 12:17 AM

Well, it looks nice ....... but, I don't see anything that would give me a burning desire to trade my 2013 in for ..... even if it was offered in the US.

An OFT and E85 gets you more HP for 500 bucks. A grand with the header, call it done. Yet another edition of the car with nothing really different other than "shiny".

Wise 12-01-2017 12:23 AM

Meh, gimmie the brakes and the seats. Aside from that just another shiny badge, with no real improvements.

StraightOuttaCanadaEh 12-01-2017 12:47 AM

I want the seats, front lip, and the reworked front fog light housings. They look much more aggressive and shiny. Will these parts be available from somewhere?

mazeroni 12-01-2017 12:57 AM

Each GR badge costs $1k confirmed.

Serious question. What is attractive about "aggressive" on a car with 200 hp? What is attractive about a body piece that matches nothing on the rest of the car?

mav1178 12-01-2017 01:56 AM

Looks like specs match the car shown at Fuji Speedway in October and also on display at Mega Web.

Matches the rest of the look I'm going for. I have the TRD fins and the SARD style wing. They always get complimented first. The two plastic triangles on the front is the thing I hate most about this car so it would be nice to finally do something about them. Oh and it won't have 200 hp forever ;)

Looks like the fog light housing near the bottom of the badge is either a stick on piece or a whole new aero part.

Mind you, I laugh at the GR discharge stickers.

Yeah I took another look last night and they do look like stick on pieces. Still would like them. If I get a front spoiler, it would tie the front end together nicely

monkeybike 12-01-2017 02:45 PM

They are up on the TRD site.

They're not purchasable though. I don't see a buy button. Do I just take the part number to the dealer and ask if they can get it?

Added more pics in the OP

I did a title and thread search with "86 GR" and your thread never showed. :bonk:

Ugh, center anal exhaust tip.

All good, search function on this site sucks, only reliable way is to use Google.

Clipdat 12-01-2017 04:57 PM

I don't see anything "anal" about the exhaust at all.

Clearly you see things from a different "perspective".

PetrolioBenzina 12-02-2017 12:25 PM

How much more crap can they hang on the front end? LOL at the need to stick "GR" all over it. Presenting the new Greaty 6, just like the old 86, only more money.

ST185RC 12-02-2017 02:03 PM

Pardon my language, but fuck off with the one-trick pony bullshit. at this point you are paying more than STi money for no STi performance. You can buy an STi at that price point and throw in a set of nice suspension and recaros for the same money.

what? 36000 for starting STi, 2000 for a set of pss10 and 2000 for a pair of recaros?

Brand new for brand new, Stock for stock, STi will spank this car in 90% of the driving situations.

I don't care what anyone says about how great the 86 handling is, it's simply not worth 43K unless there's a v8 in there. the interior is still utter shit.

talk about boy ricer shit. Not trying to be a bench racer here, but kinda hard not to be when the numbers are so far apart.

Am I in bizzaro world? :barf:

No, Toyota is aiming at the same crowd that stands in line to "upgrade" an iPhone. Every one of the special editions have been anything but "special".

The stock 86 is not worth the money at 30K, which it will hit before long.

What it really needs of the lot is better brakes.

HKz 12-02-2017 04:54 PM

too many of you folks look at the 86 with american eyes...there are markets out there where customers would prefer to have a souped up car with a small engine than having to pay all the taxes for some other platform (with probably worse handling) with a big engine (ie japan)

Ugly plastic crap for ugly plastic crap sake is still ugly plastic crap. The aftermarket is more than capable of turning nice looking cars into turds, bummer they started at the factory.

VoltsFRS2013 12-02-2017 07:57 PM

A beautiful interior and I love the exterior until you get to the rear end of the car with its little butthole exhaust.

No, you're an American/Canadian trying to justify a Japan-only car in the US market, which makes zero sense.

-alex

venturaII 12-03-2017 12:11 AM

He's not trying to justify the car - he's trying to figure out how Toyota can justify the ridiculous premium they charge over the base model for effectively zero performance gain. Or is the justification in it's exclusivity alone? If that's the case, then I've got a whole pile of marketing to sell someone..
