2018 Toyota 86 GT Trim

2018 Toyota 86's will offer a GT trim with the follwoing:

Addition of ZNAA3M and ZNAA3T (Canadian Models)

Alarm System
GT Spoiler
Smart Key with Push Button Start
Fog Lamps
Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control
Leather Seats
Heated Seats
4.2" TFT Display with Vehicle Performance Data
Floor Under Cover

No info on performance package, seems that will be Subaru only.

Tcoat 11-10-2017 11:27 AM

About what many of us predicted then.
Source?

Canada did not get the PP on the BRZ yet either.

interna 11-10-2017 02:08 PM

Source is internal dealer ordering guide. Pricing is not listed in the guide yet, typically this follows shortly after. This was released on November 1st to all Canadian dealers.

Correction, Inzuma edition BRZ is essentially the only performance package. I could see them releasing some form of PP trim for a special edition in the future for the 86.

Thanks. The US Toyota dealer guides are said to include three different versions so they are probably getting a PP version that we once again do not. I don't remember what thread they were in but if I do recall they included similar model numbers as the Canadian ones you provided plus two more.

Exactly what was expected.

I think most of us are more interested in how they will implement the PP. Will it be tied to the GT, or can it be had with the Base car sans GT package

Tokay444 11-10-2017 02:50 PM

That floor under cover though.

I wouldn't hold your breath on getting the PP goodies without the luxury items tacked on also.

Not sure what the GT spoiler looks like or what the floor under cover is, but the rest seem like they are already offered for the 2017 model.

Nope. Only in the 860.

Exactly. The GT will be the 860 in normal paint. No lavas anymore though.

Closes off more of the underbody than the stock pans do. It is outside the car so the name is a bit weird.

And probably normal wheels.

Currently the base 86 isn't available with leather/alarm/push button start/seat heaters.

You could never get those options with the base FRS either so this is a win for the USDM crowd.

Yep. I didn't think of them.

PetrolioBenzina 11-10-2017 06:09 PM

How much are these utterly essential items going to add to the cost?

so.. essentially a BRZ sport tech? ))

stevesnj 11-10-2017 07:16 PM

Should expect Toyota to do a press release on the 2018 I would suspect? Nothing on their press site yet.

Quentin 11-10-2017 07:30 PM

I see 4 different GT trims in my order catalog, but no details. I'm guessing that 2 of them are the GT listed above (AT & MT) and the other two will be the GT above with PP. The colors on the one GT trim are limited to white, sliver, red, and yellow, so PP seems certain, IMO.

pretty sure it is 2 trims for each trans options that totals the 4..don't think any sort of PP will make its way for the 86

Yea, that is what I said. I see 6 total and 4 listed as GT for the US market.

Base AT, all colors
Base MT, all colors
GT AT, all colors
GT MT, all colors
GT AT + something (probably PP), 4 colors only
GT MT + something (probably PP), 4 colors only

This sounds like the JDM "GT" with a few minor changes. The JDM model still has cloth unheated seats, and no spoiler, but adds powerfold mirrors.
The one I rented for a few days around Gunma and Tokyo also had a fully functioning G-meter as part of the display. It didn't have the microfiber interior panels the USDM model has.
There is still a higher rung in Japan called the GT-limited that adds the leather seats with heaters.
Both the GT and GT-Limited have the PP available so it will be interesting to see how they line up with the '18 US offerings.

Since the PP is always only available on the manual models, might the order book have more of a direct correlation with the JDM models, with the PP being considered an option rather than a standalone model, and the GT being the GT, while the GT + something being the GT-Limited?

Well these are Canadian models and the base id $29500 so we can count on at least $32000. What is the difference between the Two levels of BRZ in the US? That will probably be close.

Yep. For the US at any rate. We don't get the PP BRZ so probably not getting the PP 86 either.

The OP is for Canada there is no news for the US yet. I would guess that the US will simply get the base, GT and GT PP and not all the other levels the JDM has.
Canada already has a fully functioning G meter in those car so equipped.

new2subaru 11-11-2017 08:23 AM

I was really hoping Canada would get the PP this year...

Why? You already have a 2015 which looks better. It's not worth upgrading over ;)

interna 11-11-2017 11:06 AM

Only 4 Models listed for Canadian dealers. Auto Base/GT, Manual Base/GT.

A BRZ will always be lower in cost than the Toyota variant. About $1,500 less.

Neither Subaru Canada or Toyota Canada currently offer a optional PP. Only inclusive in the Inzuma edition BRZ.

A Special Edition 86 (Same specs as Sport Tech BRZ) and a Inzuma Edition BRZ (Sport Tech with PP) are the same MSRP...

I hope Toyota Canada clues into this because we did not sell alot of 2017 86's.

airjonny 11-11-2017 03:30 PM

Thank god! I'll take one with the PP in cop magnet red please.

I'm looking at a manual now and the PP would be a nice addition. I have no idea what I'd do with the front of the 86 :/

Although, I wouldn't see it when driving

Maybe where you are located?
They seem to have sold well around here.
Sales numbers look pretty normal when you consider it seemed to take a long time for some dealers to even get them in the spring.

It's the body panels pinned underneath the car.

airjonny 11-11-2017 05:54 PM

With the limited colors that just happen to match that GR 86 from Japan. I'd bet that a rebadged TRD minus the Recaros could be that mystery trim.

Quentin 11-14-2017 08:02 PM

Black mirrors, black end caps on the wing.

dattran86 11-15-2017 05:12 PM

Anyone have a picture of the GT wing?

Same wing as the MY17 BRZ.

If anyone is looking to upgrade their underbody panel to this "GT" spec.

I've already upgraded my 86 with those underbody panels. stellar too and price wasn't bad. If anyone wants the part numbers ill let you know.

Can order them from your nearest scooby doo dealer.

What'd you pay? I'm in toronto so I'm curious what the price is in cad. What do they weigh, any idea?

EDIT: is this them?

lonewolfworks 11-17-2017 01:19 PM

That is them.

But I didn't worry about the gas tank covers. Just the left and right sides.

I think I paid 220-240 with hardware?
I just called my local scooby doo dealer in Newmarket and told them I'm part of FT86club.

Easy install. very little weight maybe 10 grams (not significant), Plus its OEM.
Can't beat that.
