Why are some people like this?

Hey, what's up guys!

Today morning I noticed my roof was heavily dented and I thought something fell on it like a branch, so I hit it from the inside and it popped back in to place. Later once I got home my dad saw the car and said, "why is the car so dirty", got out and found a trail of mud, starting from the hood to the roof....with footprints.:confused0068:
That's when I realized some low life asshole jumped on the car and ran on top of it. I was fucking mad that someone would do this to another Persons car and I had washed/waxed the whole car the day before.
Being a college student had worked hard to buy this car and just don't understand how some people can do this to another persons property.

Has this kind of shit ever happened to you?

Happened to a co-workers Mazda 3 in the work parking lot, probably some kids goofing around late at night. Might get lucky and a good pdr guy can fix the roof and just buy a new hood unless it looks like the structure is undamaged and it still operates well and the pdr guy can fix that too. Insurance will cover it but it's going to be a collision claim so you're deductible might make it a wash...

Find a great pdr guy, most body shops just contract it out to the lowest bidder, they don't keep a really good pdr guy on staff that is if they don't just Bondo it and respray.

mrg666 10-15-2017 05:29 PM

I feel for you. That is a psychopath. Don't hurt yourself thinking more about it.

I think you push the dent from inside. Do it gently while distributing the pressure over a large area. Don't push it with a point force. Be patient and it will be fixed.

Well, dinfern22, that's a shame ...... :(

Are you sure it was human foot prints and not those of a large animal like a deer or a dog .... ??

Where was your car parked (what type of location) .. ??

(near a walking trail or path that might be used by animals .. ??)

There's a couple videos out there with scumbags doing this to Lamborghinis and other nice cars so probably will start seeing more of this. The f**ks got to get their Youtube views.

Thanks!

The hood is fine after I pushed it from the inside into place.

It was in the parking lot at my complex...If you look closely on the first picture, on the left, it has a couple foot prints.

...Luckily i'll be moving in a couple months to a place with a garage.

I would imagine that, down in South Louisiana, if a low life like that was caught by the wrong (right) type of vehicle owner, the person might just come to, naked, tied to a stump, with barbed wire, at the edge of a bayou ....... :eyebulge:

Calm down guys! It could be a bear or a deer too. Or a truck changing lane that missed our little car in the blind spot. This time it is probably a sick human being. Car is fixed, life goes on :)

sorry to hear about your car...at least it's fixed....people are envious of others.:mad0259:....but remember this....Karma's a Bitch! ;)

HKz 10-15-2017 09:52 PM

no but a goat jumped on the roof of mine :(

Packofcrows 10-15-2017 10:35 PM

Some f*&^%r hit my car twice on passenger side on street... Luckily, the smears from his black bumper came off my car and were really light, but my rear bumper has some small scrapes that peeled into the black underneath. I may just buy a new bumper or look for a rear body kit bumper.

So true man. Reminds me of a story that was on the news of a store clerk who beat up a couple guys trying to rob another employee when he was returning to the store with a bag full of cash. Long story short the employee got in deep shit for trying to stop the robbers.

Death is the only solution.

This sort of behavior seems to be not completely uncommon.

Don't you know an eye for an eye leaves us all lookin like pirates.:bellyroll:

For real tho @OP: A big Canadian sOHrry to hear this happened bud... Don't let the haters get you down you work and get that fixed, he/she will probably never get to enjoy the pure driving ecstacy you do in this car. If that is how they go about their life.. success will be an ever dangling carrot for them.

Nor is it new. The first car to hit the streets probably had some dumbass do something to it and it has happened everyday, everywhere since then. The only increase is how much we hear about it now that the internet makes it so easy to broadly report such actions.

people are jerks and "Hold my beer and watch this" will never go away.

mazeroni 10-16-2017 04:58 PM

I know it was likely rhetorical, but i like to speculate as a pseudo expert after a feww Google searches...

So why would someone do this? Maybe it is the result of a psychological need to control. When you feel out of control, you are much more willing to risk more.

So maybe the person felt powerless (out of control) as a result of something (pain, abuse, illness, etc.), and those feelings collided with, let's say, having had a car taken away, having to abide by a bus schedule, or being scolded for being on the grass, etc., and as a result they feel compelled in that moment to gain control by, well, walking on your car (the thing that holds power) to demonstrate its powerlessness, or their power over it, or that there really isn't any control....???

I'm not a psychologist, but it is interesting to think about...

Sorry about your car. That looks expensive to fix.

Or it really is just pranks. Why so serious? #instagramfamous

NOHOME 10-16-2017 05:21 PM

In the UK its pretty much a given that if you leave a nice car parked in public it will be vandalized. We are not too far behind. Just kinda where society is headed.

StraightOuttaCanadaEh 10-16-2017 05:31 PM

No idea why, I think it's just how some humans' brains work. My buddies used to be into the whole Smart car tipping trend. It's funny and all but not to the owner, who has to pay to repair the whole side of the (admittedly small) car. I yelled at them about it and called them idiots but they laughed it off.

EddieZ2 10-16-2017 05:43 PM

This really sux. Sorry to hear about it but as mentioned in other posts, theres some serious moral degenerates out there that are totally out of control. You have a nice ride and some renegade felt you shouldnt have a nice ride. Or perhaps someone thought you were too much of a capitalist and wanted to take you down a notch. Anyway, I dont mean any direspect to any young folk out there but I feel theres a problem with many youth that, frankly, dont have their heads screwed on right to the point they go out and destroy nice things regardless of who, what, when or where. Chill, cherry out your ride and make it known youve reported it to the police. Sorry, Im not a person that believes that if someone had a bad childhood they have a right to trash someone elses property. You worked hard for what you have and you have a right to it. Bottom line, sickos need help. We all have our crosses to bare. Just because youre having a bad day doesnt mean you have a right to trash things, regardless or race, color, creed or politics. End of story.

mrderp 10-16-2017 05:44 PM

Drunk teens/pre-adults throw construction road signs at parked cars around here. Too much pent up frustration and no release.

Celica00 10-16-2017 06:29 PM

I have a dashcam. I heard a loud noise near my garage, and I looked out of the window and saw two kids (about 10 yr old) running away from my car. I grabbed the footage and saw that they actually had jumped on my car and jacked up my hood.

I found the father of the kids and he agreed to pay for the damages. But without video evidence, you're pretty screwed.

Get a dashcam so this shit doesn't happen to you again.

I'm telling you guys, pressure activated pile-drivers. Said powerless cars become far less attractive targets. After the first couple of videos circle around at least.

That would just make matters worse as it would then turn into a competition. The risk of death has never deterred the Darwin Award candidates it just encourages them.

I know it's not as drastic but where I live is a bit in the woods. My next door neighbor across our driveway has wild cats that tend to use my warm hood after a days worth of driving as their personal heated seat. There have been countless days where I've told them to keep the cats on their property and they do not care.

Feral cats are hard to control.

I suggest you place an electric blanket on your hood, along with a bowl of water, a bowl of cat food and nice comfy sheepskin cat bed.

This sucks and this is one of the reason why I have my dashcam wired with motion detector after someone threw a McD strawberry milkshake on my car. My car smelled fruity after that!!

I also got motion detector lights for my driveway to deter any unwanted crowd!!

"Why are some people like this?"

Because that's the way some people are. They like to mess with other peoples things, material... personal.... etc. It isn't right. However minor or major it is, some people think it might be "cool" ... or what ever.

That's one of the reasons why people put their money into a house, and not transportation.
