BC Racing coilovers installed

First I will like to thank Ken @ Enjuku Racing for the help with the kit.

Easy to install and the car handles amazing.

I will be test fitting the wheels tomorrow and maybe re adjusting the suspension again.

frsguy707 07-20-2012 03:01 AM

Very nice looking drop.

AJ@ECSMotorsports 07-20-2012 04:22 PM

Great setup.. I got these on my brothers Type-S and rides NICE! Very affordable as well

ft86-UAE 07-20-2012 06:31 PM

please can i know how many clicks in front and back and how is the ride is it bumpy.

KAB-FRS 07-20-2012 10:59 PM

^^ I have them at from right to left on clicks (very stiff ride and probably great for track use) , I'm still playing with it and also waiting to put on the wheels to see what will be the best set up for street/track use.

Whay spring rates did it come with and did it also come with rear toe rods?

jamal 07-21-2012 02:41 AM

Those shocks look really short. Did you measure the travel by any chance? Do you know the spring rates?

KAB-FRS 07-21-2012 02:57 AM

Spring rates are 8k/8k came with front adjustable sway bar links, they look short becaue they are all the way in on the pic.

notFRS 07-21-2012 05:49 AM

Is that full low?
Did you have any better before and after pictures that actually show tire and fender gap differences?

RWD-boxer 07-21-2012 08:52 AM

More pics.. Looks sweet

trueno86power 07-21-2012 08:00 PM

Do you have crazy camber in the rear? I've just installed mine and it really have negative camber in the rear like -2 -3.

KAB-FRS 07-22-2012 01:22 AM

They are NOT all the way low still has at least 2' more to go down and the camber is not that bad.

Sorry but I didn't take any close up pics of the wheel gap.

lookchris 08-08-2012 04:08 AM

hey bro do you think you lost any performance?
is it still a smooth ride?

pyro530 08-27-2012 01:23 PM

Do these bind at all at low speeds? Give you that 'twang' sound?

garf 09-17-2012 05:40 AM

any updates on the ride quality? does it handle better or worse than oem? drop looks great but would love more pics!

mine do this odd bottoming out kind of thing when angling onto a very steep driveway and make a sound but other than that to the people who are asking up top.. I set my dampeners to the softest setting because the stiffness for me was getting uncomfortable for DDing and it feels like stock again!

Turn off your traction control and vsc when going up a curb the noise is most likely your tires. I thought I was scraping the bottom with a 2" drop on BC coilovers but had no problem backing out of a driveway. So i had a friend watch me ascend a curb and it was clearly the tires trying to turn.

Can anyone please tell me how much ride comfort is sacrificed on the BC Racing Coilovers? I ordered them for $899. They came in defective as it was inspected where I ordered it from. They have given me the option to switch brands, get a refund, or wait for the next shipment.

I do not want to sacrifice ride quality. A little bit is fine.

deucethemoose 09-28-2012 10:26 AM

Who did you order from?

GTM_Challenge 10-02-2012 01:46 PM

Looks great, needs some wheels now!

ngabdala 10-03-2012 10:29 PM

So I decided to have Swift Springs placed into my BC Racing Coilovers .

What spring rates do you think you're going to go with?

ngabdala 10-06-2012 09:18 AM

I don't know crap when it comes to springs and coilovers as I've never used them before. I think they said it would be 6k/6k. I have no idea what that means.

Did u get the extreme drop swift springs? And can u still go lower or is that as low as it goes front/back?

KAB-FRS 10-24-2012 12:21 AM

^^^Still has more to go, I wanted something practical and wasn't looking for a slammed look.

Is it the standard kit though or extreme drop kit? I believe the standard kit only drops it 2" and extreme drop kit can go 3". Yours looks like it might be the extreme drop kit since u say it can still go lower. Correct me if im wrong though...cant wait to get this coilover kit, just cant decide between the standard and extreme drop kit

So how have these been holding up? Just curious to see if i should add this to the "possible" section of my suspension list haha.

B1FR-S 05-28-2014 09:16 PM

Standard or Extreme please!? Thanks!

scionsalesjay 06-06-2014 08:42 PM

I am ordering 6k swift springs for mine. The 8ks were pretty harsh and you can adjust dampening and spring preload to set your car up. I will give an update when I get them in. Should be a week and a half.

Michael 06-07-2014 01:11 AM

I went with the Extreme Low 10k spring rates and while some areas can be rough, it's a smooth ride. I haven't lowered it to my desired height fully yet but will once I order camber bolts/LCAs.
