Another Reason to Love the BRZ
I was leaving the store this morning, and three attractive twenty-something ladies were getting into the car next to mine. One of them smiled at me and said "I like your car!"
Now I'm old enough to be her father, and no movie star in the looks department, so I'm sure she genuinely did like my car. Still, it brightened up my day. :party0030: |
I do love those moments. The other day a couple of teens yelled out "Hey cool car!" I then heard them whisper to one another, "Isn't that the scion?" "No, that's the Subaru, it's so much cooler!" Made my day!
|
I usually get the guys from work say "nice car" and I quickly jump in and say "yeh bot bad for a girls car" before they can say it. They are all into off roading and v8's. They don't know what to follow up with when I steal their line
|
Never once heard the twins are a girl's car.
|
all i ever attract is rice boys and old guys who bought their 350z or Genesis by mistake.
Its more of a cock magnet than a chick magnet |
I had 6 "nice cars" in a 5 minute drive today. Usually get at least two a day. Ranges from small children to old ladies with every conceivable age in between. I think most just like the colour and have no clue what the car is.
99.99999998% of the general public have no idea there is a Scion or Subaru version so the whole Subaru snob thing is silly. |

Wrong colour! The chicks love the Lava. |

Yeah it's great, I catch people looking at me and the car almost every day as I drive home from work, I always get compliments while I wash it too.

That's why I like my BRZ! It's one of my reason too!

Also, still don't see many others on the road, even after almost 5 years. I can take an 11 hr road trip to Myrtle Beach, spend a week on the road, and would be lucky to see just one other twin.

This car only attracts dudes, those girls were tolling you.

3 others just in my neighborhood, 4 in my parking lot at work, and another 2 at my GFs work parking lot if we carpool. Not to mention when I go to national AutoX event there will be like 25 of them there. |

And for that reason is why 15 years ago I bought a WRX and now happy with my choice of a 2017 BRZ Limited. I’ve had my BRZ for a week now and can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face. All my work buddies compliment me on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Last year before I moved from my small hometown I would go on afternoon drives through our "Main Street" and see tons of like younger kids than I (Im only 18) Riding bikes and stuff. I recall a certain time where a group of kids maybe 10-12 had me doing pulls back and forth through the street and they were going ballistic. good times.

2 weeks ago I was doing a small road trip and I was in this small town. Parked to check out the downtown area. I was standing next to my car and this little kid with his parents was walking by. The kid was like "oh look daddy, it's a brz. It's a nice brz!" and the dad was like, "yeah it is a nice car... etc etc"
This kid was like, 5-7 years old... I was in shocked. Not only this kid knew what BRZ was but he didn't say scion/frs like the rest of the crowd lol. |
The one thing I have noticed, here in Dallas you need to Valet a lot. My truck and everything else I have owned is parked it’s the north 40. My little yellow BRZ seems to be parked up front all the time. The other night leaving Mi Cocina my buddy’s Porsche and my BRZ were in the 2 first slots. All the 80K boring BMW’s were off in the north 40?

Living in Dallas, there are a ton of valet places, but I'd much rather walk the 1-2 blocks instead of letting some teenager mistreat my baby. I also tend to treat my cars better than I treat most people so I'm a little crazy. |
With the stupid way valet lots are so often crammed past capacity, I'm more worried about door dings than valets hooning in my car.
|
On Halloween I drove over to a friend's neighborhood to take my daughter Trick or Treating over there. There were already kids out and as I slowly drive by I hear some kid say "That kid's car is lit". I just laughed at the word kid as I am probably older than his father. LOL

Just in costco yesterday to buy tires, lady asking me what my car is, I tell her "2017 Toyota 86" and I paused because name was done. She sat there and stared at me.. "So what's the car besides a Toyota???" THE NAME IS DAMN 86 https://i.ytimg.com/vi/LR4DglDq4rM/hqdefault.jpg |

"Well it's a FRS badged as a Scion which is a branch of Toyota and in the rest of the world it is called a Toyota 86 except for some places where they have a GT86 and it is built by Subaru which has an almost identical version called a BRZ except that they have two different levels called Limited and Premium but the Limited is actually the higher level than the Premium" This is usually followed by "So who makes Skeeon?" |
Quote:
me: "do you know what the Scion FRS is?" them: "Maybe" me: "Okay, well my car is that car, but in other countries it was the GT86, so now the Scion brand is dead as of 2016, and they re-badge/renamed it the Toyota 86"... takes breath them: "OOOOHHHHHH??????? Thaaaat car." When they still don't know what either one is. Even "CAR PEOPLE" don't know what this car is lol. The limited/premium thing though is only the states I thought? Which is god damn stupid, who names a higher model limited and a lower model premium.. It's not like it's called "Limited Edition", which that would've even make sense. |
