I'm so hyped!! Lol.. I was checking the inventory of all the dealers in NYC for a WR Blue BRZ Limited and finally found 1 in Long Island. Went in and got the deal done!! I pick her up tomorrow at 4:30 lol.. Salesman said I was the first person they let test drive the car, not even the manager had driven it. It was love at first sight, I can't wait! Here is a picture of her before the test drive...

They wanted 32k plus tax... I know it was marked up a bit, but I talked them down to 30k and they paid the last 7 months of my lease with the Infiniti. I was a little tight on time because I was about to go over my miles and had 7 months left. The monthly payments was where I needed to be so I pulled the trigger.

elbachatero1 07-19-2012 01:17 AM

Thanks!!! :D I haven't been this happy about a car in a very long time. I've always leased and this is the first time I buy a car because I know I'm going to have fun modding, and driving as much as I want :happyanim:

Sorry but, depending on how much his monthly payments were on the Infiniti it sounds like he got a pretty decent deal. This isn't scion we're talking about so to walk away at 30k for a limited is a good deal in my eyes. plus it was a walk-in sale.

Pre-orders are the only way you'll walk out at MRSP wihtout having to haggle your time away.

The car looks great OP

Invoice or MSRP? They are different. Maybe we need to start a thread on which dealers are selling them for invoice.

Show off!

I tried with multiple dealers, $65 under MSRP was the best I could do, then of course I ended up paying $800 more for port installed option to get it 4 months sooner.....yeah it was worth it! :happy0180:

elbachatero1 07-19-2012 02:12 PM

Yeah I know I overpaid for the car.. But ultimately I'm happy with the deal I got, I wasn't willing to wait to order the car due to my situation with my lease and the miles I needed a car ASAP... I can't wait to go pick it up later.

sbxjap 07-19-2012 02:25 PM

Nice job man! I went to buy that exact car on 7/8 at Grand Prix, but the salesman and manager wouldn't budge from 32k, and I wasn't in a rush to buy so it ended up being a waste of a 2.5 hour drive for me. I'm happy you got them down a little! Ended up working out for me because 2 days later on 7/10 I put a deposit on my car that I found in CT and picked it up on 7/12 and it had the couple options on it that I wanted.

Congrats and enjoy driving it!

FT-86 SpeedFactory 07-20-2012 11:44 AM

Thanks!! Yeah I haven't been this excited about a car in a very long time lol.. Just sucks that on my first full day of having her its raining all day today. Thats funny because they werent budging from the 32K price either. But I told the salesman if they wanted to work with me I was serious to buy so I talked them down to 30K. Still above msrp but I didnt want to order the car and wait 3 months, so I pulled the trigger and I dont regret it.

hyper4mance 07-20-2012 01:45 PM

Nice... just be careful when you take it back to the dealer for any recalls or service. They claim a test drive after they do anything is typical, but when I got it back they drove it 12 miles and the avg mpg dropped 0.7 with about 1/4 tank left so it seemed like they romped on it pretty hard. Obviously I was not very happy and spoke to the service manager to let them know what happened.

WRXGuy1 07-20-2012 02:03 PM

Thanks for the advice I'm definitely going to keep that in mind. The dealer I went to seemed very professional though. The car had about 7. something miles on it when I test drove it. He told me only 6 more miles will be on it the next day because they send it to get detailed, and remove all the plastic and stickers that were on it. When I went to pick it up yesterday it had 14 miles exactly on it.

elbachatero1 07-20-2012 04:22 PM

I've driven manual cars before but this is the first time I actually buy one.. What do you guys do if you need to valet park the car? Do you let the guy take it or do they let you drive it to the parking spot?

ImAwesome 07-20-2012 07:52 PM

I use to be a valet, Being able to drive a manual is almost a requirement. So chances are you'll be fine
