Hizpo 7" Android 7.1.2 head unit
Recently purchased one of these new Hizpo nougat powered head units. Boot up is instant after first power up. Sound quality is good, and the unit is very zippy. I'm still in process of getting it fit properly, but so far I'm very pleased! A few shots:

Ok took a bit of creativity but it's finally in. Unfortunately messed up the dash a little bit :( . As the picture shows, that was only way to really get it to fit. The head unit bezel is too tall so it really needs to sit far back. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...00b8420120.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d87d3b2023.jpg

In for details - nice clean looking unit, aside from a little bit of dremeling, how was fit? Gaps?
Edit: nvm I just saw the text with the last pic, so sitting further back how is overall fit? thx |

Nothing that could be fixed with a different mount? Is the unit itself just too large?

I like how this unit doesn't have the stupid name on the bezel.

The only thing holding me back now is mirrorlink (please tell me if it works well) and try using 64gb card if u have one. 32gb is nothing. I have a 64gb USB with all my music :/. But holy crap man this hu is pretty cheap and seems well made! Any complaints from u? Does it crash a lot? Does it lag? Does torque work smoothly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Please update me on mirroring whenever u get the chance. This unit is cheaper than joying and kinda looks better. How's the volume knob? Does it move smoothly? Sorry for asking too much. Sound quality wise, does this sound better than oem? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also the radio reception is really good. It supports HD radio ( needs optional box) also supports OTA tv (w/adapter).

Did it come with a back up camera? I'm trying to see the difference between joying and this. They have different processors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What wiring kit did you need for it?
Was there no way to dremel around the bezel to squeeze it in to the stock trim piece? |

If you mean the HU I didn't want to risk doing damage. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |
Update** the mirroring works fine

Nice. Thanks for the feedback.
Pretty sure I'm gonna get one to try out. Will I need anything else other than that bracket and wire harness set? Appreciate the help! |

This may also be a good alternative option from HIZPO, this would a good alternate option that would not require the side pieces I'm thinking: https://www.amazon.com/Android-Unive...s=hizpo+toyota

Dasaita and xtrons

Toyota fit: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...800492477.html They also sell a universal fit one that would fit but for sake of fitment part of me is still leaning towards the Toyota-fit with the premium price tag... Universal fit: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...612.0.0.pWONZh There are also options from xtrons but I'm not a fan of the DVR from xtrons. I like the modular approach they are taking with these new units, as far as the rear outputs are concerned. You don't have to have unused wiring in the back since outputs are separate harnesses.

I like the DVR that Dasaita uses with "their" app. Many of the companies seem to use a proprietry style DVR that will link up with their apps... For example xtrons will not neccesary work with just any DVR you attach to it unforunately, same with Dasaita or Joying.

Dam! I can't decide! The hizpo doesn't have that many user reviews. The joying does. But some people keep saying it crashes. One has a cortex a9 (hizpo) the other has intel x3 (I don't know jack shit about processors, I'm an apple guy). Both headunits look good... both look the same tbh lol.
Hizpo has fitment issues right? To op: did your car come with a double din screen hu? Or the older one from 2013 with no screen? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

From the extensive research that I've done, I've heard that it overheats the hu when you're running a dvr and gps+ music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Some guys over on XDA got a discounted unit for testing out a new octa-core unit running nougat. Forgot which brand.

can you link us to the hu u bought ? There is a bunch of them.

It was most likely a Dasaita/Hotaudio unit...they're the only ones who have a guy on XDA AFAIK. Try the MTCD or Android Head Unit areas. |
Honestly, now it just comes down to the CPU. Like I said before. One has a cortex a9 and the other has an intel atom x3 (joying).
If anyone knows anything about those 2 processors and could shine some light on them, we'd all greatly appreciate it :). I don't care if I have to pay more, I just want a unit that could multitask a lot of things like music, gps and torque app possibly at the same time. Or mirrorlink with music playing in the background. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My impression from my reading on XDA, which is a lot, is that you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference under normal use. I'd just get whichever one looks/fits the best. Even my old 1GB RAM MTCB unit runs Torque, Google Maps, and XiiaLive or MTCMusic at the same time without any real issues. The newer 2GB RAM units all feature much faster boot and app loading times...for these things the differences in architectures is largely academic to the end user. One thing to note is that there are no custom ROMs for Intel units, while there are several for RK3188 ones, and at least one for PX5 (as long as the MCU is MTCB/C/D of course). |

Rk being this headunit? Or no? (The hizpo) Oh and I guess the operating system. 5.1 is what most of them have. This hizpo one has 7.1 nougat. (Again; I'm an iOS guy, this stuff is new for me ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Little update, so I contacted the seller about the unit not seeing the obd adapter over Bluetooth. They responded saying they'll speak to the tech and will be sending me an update file. Fingers crossed🤞
On another note I did find this solution for backup cameras: Rear View Reverse Camera for TOYOTA 86 GT FT GT86 FT86 86GT 86FT For Subaru BRZ 2012~2015 CCD night vision backup Parking camera http://s.aliexpress.com/6NbYZjY7 (from AliExpress Android) Thought I'd share **I included eBay link on first post** Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |
