Portland/Vancouver 8/6 Day Drive 4K Video

Updated: New compilation, now with aerial drone footage and terrible music. :D

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTTNKDvJwlQ"]FRS BRZ 86 8/6 Day Drive - Rowena Loops - YouTube[/ame]

Here's some raw unedited footage from our Rowena Loops run on August 6th. Sorry, original content was 4k and I scaled it down to 1080 so it lost a lot of fine quality.

driving can be done to and fro, before and after meeting up. the intention is to keep it relatively close to the metro area as to keep it accessible to anyone with scheduling constraints. summer traffic to the coast or to the mountains are all congested.

Only if you take the main roads. Why would you do that?

I know the Corolla (AE86) guys are meeting at Cathedral Park in North Portland. Maybe we can do something similar? Ideas welcome!

Is it a huge thing for them? If not too crowded, maybe they won't mind us crashing their party. What do you think?

I'm down for Sunday fun. Might even slop on a second coat of wax. ;)

Again, this is for a destination in or around Portland. The route people choose to take to and leave the destination is up to their discretion. Even backroads can be congested with trailers and slow traffic.

A cruise/rally can be organized. I'm just proposing the meeting destination be something that accommodates food/drink/bs-ing.

We're just pushing your buttons. I'm down for a cruse to/from the event as well as whatever plans you set. If that's crashing the ae86 group, having our own shindig, or both. :)

Meeting in the suburbs okay. Meeting in metro Portland not okay.

m.box.design 07-21-2017 01:36 PM

Well, if we do decide to rain on the AE86 parade at Cathedral Park (some AE86 guys have a disdain towards the new 86); anyone know some decent roads on the west side? I mainly drive Skyline when I'm out that way and we'll probably take Germantown down to Cathedral Park, even though it has speed bumps now.

stockysnail 07-21-2017 01:58 PM

I'm up for whatever.

I'll be at a wedding.

It's early for those that typically wake up later than that! :p I wake up between 8-9 on the weekends so it it starts a little later than 730am then I'm up for it. I'm going to the Hot pepper/sauce festival in the OMSI parking lot that day so I'll need to leave around noon. 9-1130 sounds like a nice time to have a drive. You all can/should come to the festival too. We could roll up as a group!

Decay107 08-02-2017 02:40 PM

Likely too early for me, but we'll see if I just happen to get up early enough to make it out there (happens more often than you might expect)

gantonski 08-02-2017 02:42 PM

so who is going to have the best sounding car? I'm hoping enough people show up and there are a range of exhaust setups (a real deep UEL rumble) that i can look into - youtube just doesn't cut it for audio samples and i dont want to do it blind.. :(

AnotherDude000 08-02-2017 04:53 PM

This is tempting as I have driven the Rowena loop before with our CRV and it looks like a lot of fun with a FRS. I'll keep it in mind!

Omi Ham-Sandwich 08-02-2017 05:41 PM

Hood River will be 100° ( ゚д゚)!! ..... I think i will pass.

Omi Ham-Sandwich 08-02-2017 05:56 PM

That'd be me :laughabove:

Long tube EL into garret gtx2867r into fujitsubo catless front pipe into HKS 3" single exit.

Open screamer pipe off the wastegate and atmospheric BOV for all those turbo noises

Unfortunately it's probably going to be waay to hot to risk getting the beast caught in traffic on the other side of the river.

Been meaning to grab one, but haven't had a chance to bring the sound rig out with this setup yet. Cell phone sound just doesn't cut it.

Here are two previous setups, both NA

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNiwGXRrQC8"]Scion FR-S Tomei UEL - YouTube[/ame]

so is that Tomei with the nameless exhaust from the first video??

m.box.design 08-04-2017 04:00 AM

Be prepared to leave Cascade Station at 8:00AM sharp. If you are late, you'll just have to catch up on Hwy 14 east. I drive to work at 6:30AM and it pretty much is light out with good road visibility already. 8:00AM will be considerably brighter and pushing higher temps.

First vid is nameless header, nameless fp/op, nameless muffled track pipe
Second is Tomei UEL, Motive OP, Tomei Front pipe, and nameless track pipe

I'm going to be in Seattle this week, and hopefully Vancouver on Saturday. My friend that lives out there that I'm visiting was talking about the wildfires in BC.Can anyone tell me how serious it is in the Vancouver area. He makes it sound like we shouldn't go up there, but I got my passport specifically for this trip.

The sky isn't clear, but seems fine to me. This is in Milwaukee. Pretty close to Vancouver. I think you should be fine
