I have been married to my wife for almost 31 years. We have gone thru alot of cars in that time - she has always named the cars. She goes with the color many times. How about Blueberry, Bluebell, Blueball, Blu, Blugal, you get the idea. Sueblue might work too. I've got the Firestorm Red Scion FRS, so my lovely wife came up with Firefly. I would go with whatever your wife or significant other likes, and DON'T argue. Like I said, I've been married for almost 31 years......

Braces

I gave my FRS my wife's middle name, because she 'let' me purchase the car lol. Was the best gesture I could think of since we had zero need for a 'toy' car.

Her name us currently Sydney but there's a huge reason I kinda wish to change it. But we had other's names and got into a small argument about it so now I'm trying to find a name we both like without it being a friends name

I like to find names that relate to the car itself. Not something that just sounds cool.

although I usually default to feminine names for vehicles, the particular photo in the OP immeditally brought to mind:

In a similar vein, the wife really wants to get a custom plate with "YUZU" for our series yellow, even though that's technically the color for the FR-S 1.0. Am I right to be hung up on this? Or should I just let it go and do what the wife wants?

I named my frs Yukio after a character in The Wolverine which was playing around the time I bought the car. I also think the actress looks a little like the car.

"YUZU" is a yellow fruit so it would be ok, but "INAZUMA" would make sense too because it means "lightning" and the Canadian BRZ Series.Yellow is called the Inazuma Edition.

I disagree that actress has an exotic sexy look not unlike the twins. That picture isn't the most flattering but she looks good in the movie.
