Aftermarket header, new secondary O2 sensor, code P013A
P013A indicates a slow sensor. Sensor was replaced due to damaging the OEM. OEM sensor threads welded to OEM header.
My question is what should I try next? 1. The MXP header as shown in this image (this is the EL version, mine is UEL), has a separated 90 degree bung. Could the be causing the issue? Should I try removing the 90 degree bung and plugging the sensor directly into the header? 2. Would this indicate that my aftermarket O2 sensor is not working right? (ordered from rockauto) It looked perfect and I have to assume this probably isn't the case or I would get more errors? 3. Should I simply disable that DCT from the tune and carry on? This code is the only CEL I have gotten since replacing O2 sensor. So what do you guys think? 1, 2 or 3? Thanks for the help! |
New sensor might not be electricly compatabke with oem , ecu expects certian charasteristics.
Try removing the 90 spacer. If the new sensor is not sending corrdct signsks to ecu it nay be causing you other issues lije rich cruise fueling. You may have to do more than just diabke that one code, you may also need to zero out all the rear o2 compensations they are calked AF#3 in romraider Or get an oem sendor from an auto wrecjer recycler |

Is it possible to get a copy of my tune (Stage2 UEL) with the AF#3 in it? |
A lot of stuff on Rock Auto is crap esp. if you go for the least expensive option.

I would definitely try removing that right-angled adapter as you don't need it in rear 02 with oft tune. It may solve your issues without altering tune. OK thiers lots of different calid hacks on oft tunes but ill assume your OFT B00C rom is actually a B01C internally If so here a def with AF #3 parameters Please read the Romraider TIPS link below in signature and carefully check several tables in your rom with this definition. If anything looks strange don't use it |
Thanks very much.
Not so sure about the B00C vs B01C but everything in my OFT says B00C. Looking in my tables seem fine, but not sure what I would be looking for if it was incorrect. As a final verification, all three A/F #3 tables should be set to a high/low of 0 correct? Does this last row (7600) seem strange? https://i.gyazo.com/22eef2f60ba6b7f6...275fa6a457.png |

that last line is part of soft rev limiter ie retarded ignition timing so that's ok. yes set all three af #3 comp tables to zero |
Welp, I zeroed the tables and saved the custom rom, loaded it into my car and now it's bricked.
Joking! ;D Seems to run fine. Monitored my AFR. Jumps around a bit but at cruize it seems to stick around 14.7, and after about 20 seconds at idle it jumps from like 13.7 to 14.7. I noticed that in VSC Sport mode it felt very linear and like I couldn't really push the car, same with TRAC OFF (Holding Trac Off for 5 sec). In normal mode the car rips it up, but nanny is always watching. |

Zeroing those AF#3 compensations just stops the rear 02 from having any effect on AFR. however you may still need to disable the cel codes associated with the rear sensor. |
So the difference in throttle in sport mode is just the tune?
Also the definitions do not support disabling P013A CEL. It wasn't in the list of codes. :( |

My understanding is that the throttle mapping power etc is exactly the same in sport or trac of modes as in full nanny mode. The vsc/trac system will however intervene at much lower levels of wheels spin slip/slide and then limit throttle/power and/or apply brakes. I suspect this is what your feeling. but if no slip or loss of traction should be same in all modes |

EDIT: I looked in the XML definition and found both entries for P013A, but it still doesn't show in Romraider. o.o |

You can safely disable P050B code its only and emission check code. P013A is going to be more difficult, you will need to find someone skilled at rom disassembly, likely on romraider forums. Did you remove that right angle adapter that's going to make rear 02 see lean condition. And maybe try a second hand oem rear sensor from auto wreckers, they will all be same from 2012 to 2016 auto or manual car |

Will have to deal with it and remove the spacer when I get back, or maybe this weekend if I can get under the car. Thanks for the help. |
