Looks amazing man!
|
Great update
|
Nice job!
What about the silver vents? Paint or wrap them maybe? What is the center switch for? Where and how did you get/make it? |
Thank you! In a future update they'll be gone, but for now they are still matching the rev tach.
The center switch will be to lift/lower the front suspension to go over speed bumps. I'll be using coilovers + air cup system. I'm reusing the snow/sport switch from the automatic 86. |
Interior mods are the best mods.

Looks great. You probably have as much money in interior parts as you paid for the car.

That's awesome

how much did the black trim pieces and the red door handles cost? love how the black and red combo looks!
|
The red handles cost around $60 (only place I've seen them is ebay) and all the black trim pieces between $150 and $200.
Here's a list with all the part numbers: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...43#post1890543 More interior changes coming soon... |

Painted the sides of the OEM seats in red to match the rest of my interior.

Where'd you buy all of these parts?
Most interested in the knob. |

It feels nicer than the stock one because it gets rid of the stitching and glossy cap that felt a bit uncomfortable. Also grip is better.
|
Real nice work. I love upgraded interiors. How is the quality of the AC knobs are they a solid metal or plastic ?
Here is a pic of mine most recently http://i.imgur.com/89B3XyP.jpg |
It's cool to see other people using spray dye. I used black dye on all the red stitch.
Your interior looks nice. I like the knob bezels. |

so how are the knobs mounted, is there double side tape on the backside? If so maybe removing the thickness of the tape and using a glue would get it to sit closer. |
Here's one of my favorite updates: Custom Design Gauge Faces.
They looks simple, but a lot of thought went into them. I tried to keep the design as minimalist as possible with highlights only on the rev tach. It's like a Remix version of the FR-S stock one :D. Also custom painted the Stork needle caps with a dark tint over the metal and center ring to match. http://i.imgur.com/oBJq8Xb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/J9prfws.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LwQQuIU.jpg Funny thing is that I used a combination of translucent paint and clear that created a rainbow effect on the surface depending on the angle that light hits it, which wasn't intended to be, but came out really nice. http://i.imgur.com/mbDZ8Se.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZZNsDEZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/t7afeXf.jpg Night Operation http://i.imgur.com/Y4rG43N.jpg I don't know anything about photography and lightning so these pictures really don't do justice. |

Steering wheel badge Version 2.0
Not very pleased with the way my previous custom badge turned out, I decided to start over. After some research I found the Toyota Hub Cap 2994 had a detachable "T" logo with similar dimensions of our Scion steering wheel badge, instead of the oversized "T" that most people use. https://i.imgur.com/4U3LJpU.jpg Cut the Scion badge and fitted this one inside https://i.imgur.com/D0Eykbo.jpg Found a piece of leather with similar pattern used in the cover. https://i.imgur.com/PNyoWxl.jpg Painted the ring flat black and the logo black chrome with a satin finish. And here's the finished product: https://i.imgur.com/tiW9Sat.jpg https://i.imgur.com/As4CDFa.jpg Not OEM quality but I can live with it. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/imag...lies/smile.gif |
Ordered the JDM Toyota 86 red shift knob on ebay. Shipped from Japan. Surprisingly came in a Subaru box with a part number that is not listed anywhere. The quality is exactly the same as my stock knob so I doubt it's a counterfeited part. Anyway, this should match my new leather seats nicely https://www.ft86club.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif.

Well, after six months of adding some color to my seats they have degraded into plain fugly:
https://i.imgur.com/nhjzr6a.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2Z2hkzD.jpg I was already planning on doing leather seats at a later stage anyway, but it became a priority. https://i.imgur.com/tBhjhQE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/M8EIgjC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YrqcbbP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qrFdJnr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/raLj2Bf.jpg https://i.imgur.com/azvedQt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6ALhlJi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dANAA62.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Nu2LH85.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LqHuUOr.jpg |
looks great imo. now I want.
I kinda want to do up my interior a bit like the SEMA convertible that had a beige and black theme on the interior. how do they feel? do they slide around at all on the seat? |
Your interior looks great! I'm interested in the armrest. Is that an OEM part (sorry, new to the 86)? Is it this: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...03-06750.html? I also see non-OEM versions that look like yours on ebay for more money, so a little confused. Also, know if it's available anywhere with the orange stitching (I've got the 860SE)?
Thanks. EDIT: Found it: https://www.86speed.com/products/ora...-rest-lhd.html |
I was about to post that link LOL
|
I was able to source the JDM 2017 Alcantara door trims with red stitching. Why do the Japanese always keep the nicer stuff for themselves?
https://i.imgur.com/mIEwdLG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YilFKbQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bhBEV2A.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MS6b2gd.jpg Next: I gotta do something about that center plastic piece on the door cards. Now it looks so out of place... |
@Raven86Project; Do you have a part number for the center console bezels? How hard were they to install? Looking at the picture, it appears that they pop out of the center console?
*Edit: Found the info I was looking for here in this thread. Nice work, by the way! |
Installed Sweidit Alcantara shifter boot/e-brake combo with leather handle.

Here's a comparison of the three OEM interior trims:
1.JDM 86RC (matte black) 2.BRZ tS (metallic charcoal) 3.Standard (silver) https://i.imgur.com/JAJ711R.jpg Just got all the tS parts (except the AC pillars, where I'm keeping the 86RC ones) https://i.imgur.com/c6OP3uD.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iSKweUd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jM38VAP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8ZwmbiZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IekJRRJ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PypwSGh.jpg |
Got my Tanabe Revel VLS gauges and currently working on the custom placement. Thanks to ft86club user Lunatic for the custom made panel.

LOL, maybe. This was a panel that he made for his personal use and when he changed his setup I asked him to purchase it.

I enjoy your Instagram, and saw you got the HKS turbo kit. When is it going on and thoughts on the build quality of it?

Thanks man! I haven't seen too many kits in person to compare with this one but quality seems top notch. The installation is being delayed for one remaining item that hasn't arrived yet. The JDL slim fan kit was ordered Aug 15th and still don't have a delivery date. |
