Drift officetune

Best 200 bucks I've ever spent. Tweaked my tune to perfection. If you haven't had Bob tune your car I feel sorry for you!!!!!

hmmmm....... I'm a bit slow on the uptake today ......I don't understand the graph.

Torque and power(HP), before and after tune

The two lines traveling up and to the right are the horsepower curve, before and after.

The two lines traveling nearly straight across are the torque curve, before and after.

The key at the bottom also shows the max gains.

Meaning max horsepower before the tune was 181, after was 187.

Also, I've heard great things about Bob and the Drift Office crew, I've got two friends, both with BRZ's (I work at Eastside Subaru in Kirkland), they've both got Drift Office tunes, they said it's the best tune you could get for these cars, Bob is REALLY good with the twins, he knows these things probably as well as Subaru and Toyota do.

When I get my car I'm gonna have to go get a tune from him also! :P

An increase of 6 hp and 8 torque is well within the margin of error between two dyno runs with nothing changed on a car. If you did several pulls and took the average you may find there is not even that big a difference or it is actually more than that.
No doubt there would be an improvement but not sure I would be willing to pay $200 for the little bit it would be based on one before and after pull.

Is/was your car completely stock when he tuned it ...... ??

If not, what power (either real or potential) mods did you have done .... ??

Not really late so much as early.
Not grumpy either and just presenting a different viewpoint on dyno readings.
As long as the owner is happy then it is a success.

I'm definitely happy and the whole story appropriate in this case. I didn't get a tune so I could gain a couple hp. When I bought the car it had a rev match tuned that I really hated. The original tune was done a couple years ago so we decided to do a little tweaking. I don't know much about the process but I can tell you imagined or real there is a big difference. The throttle response is definitely better and torque (esp in 3-4th gear) is markedly better. I also installed a Perrin catback and was getting some slight backfire and bogging at low rpm when rev matching.
That's why I took it in.
I don't know you or what you drive. But have you had your car tuned. If not I'd say give it a whirl. I've driven a stock frs and the difference is noght and day. I would never ever drive one of these off the lot without 1st stopping in Auburn to have Bob tune it.
I don't know much but I do know that!!! Margin of error or neigh.

You have some valid reasons for a tune. I just cringe a little when I see a graph with just two sets of data thrown up as proof of an improvement.
I am very happy with the stock tune and the very minor mods I have on my car and to pay for a custom tune would be the same as ripping up my cash and throwing it away from my point of view.
My "tuning" experience is extensive but from the day when you advanced timing by loosening a bolt and twisting the distributor to just the right place and turned the trim screw on the carburetor(s) until the exhaust smelled right.
I am not for one second saying that you are wrong but simply pointing out that dyno readings are not an exact science and that there may be better ways to spend the money.

Where did that saying ever come from? Was there a day when skinning cats was so common you needed more than one way? Like, who ever skinned a cat anyway?

Good question!!! Google???

Don't forget to "set the points" (dwell) ...... :)

When I started, tuning cars involved at least a timing gun and a 10 mm wrench to turn the distributor cap.

Unfortunately, many people still believe that tuning a N/A car without changing any of the hardware gives gains. This has changed since the 90's. Check this article:
