This car looks awesome, I hope theres a turbo'ed version

Franisco 04-21-2011 03:57 PM

Looks great. They've definitely been creepin on the forum. Room for racing tires and jack? That's almost a quote..

ichitaka05 04-21-2011 04:03 PM

yeah I know. Hachi, you gotta find em and PM em like crazy what we want on this car LOL

RRnold 04-21-2011 04:33 PM

He mentioned canyons way too many times. The canyons are already busy so hopefully this won't give the impression to future FR-S owners that they have to carve the canyon with this car.

:word:

The paddle shifters on the automatic caught my attention. That means this thing wants to compete with the 370Z!

Franisco 04-21-2011 05:58 PM

Im a little worried about that ^ There's quite a bit of carbon fiber, the brakes, the active aero.. It seems like its gaining cost quickly. I'd assume the base isn't going to have that stuff, but typically those types of options are not on a $20k car

superpa 04-21-2011 08:06 PM

Checkout those brakes, the disk is attached to the wheel and the caliper is bolted to the inside ???

I hope they take lessons from Lexus with the paddle placements. We're talking like full paddles not the half ones on the Genesis. and place the paddles in a good place too. I liked 370z 's paddles honestly, but you gotta admit the welded aluminum ones on the lfa is SEX

He did say " I've been haven fun watching online forums, really comments about this car, I'm really impress on the amount of passion the enthusiast already have for it, and the volume of buzz." look on starting 3:58... this means they've been lurking around listening to each time a concept is shown. atleast he pointed on the last part next year production model yeah baby.

If they really read the forums, Scion/Toyota put a LSD stock on the car. Thank you. Carry on.

Then I second the motion on changing the domain name, is FR-Sclub.com taken? I check nothing yet. and actually we are the largest FT-86/FR-S/216A forum, we get more traffic here than others.

Well, it's still a concept name, so...

:word:Concept 3 and counting. It's premature to change the domain name.

Only a little. He sounded pretty confident in the name being FR-S for Scion.

Also mentioned that a lot of forums got the name wrong. Ours didn't, we've had FR-S on the top links for ages.

(I still think that fR would have been waaaaay better, and the talking about how Scion's not being conventional by going with a non-Scion naming pattern, but they just used the old Toyota convention. MR-S, Scion?)

That whole blab is why I hate Scion. Just feels insincere. But maybe they're trying to change. FR-S/FT86 is a legit performance product. FINALLY...

4agze 04-22-2011 06:34 PM

what I didn't hear him say is "affordable"

FR-S would work in Asia and Europe because, for example, the MR-2 Spyder here, is called the MR-S in those two locations. Besides, FR-S doesn't exactly jive with the current Scion nomenclature of two letters (xA, xB, tC).

Again this is CONCEPT car, my friend. It's not the final production ver, it could change the name.

tC is called Toyota Zelas (or something like that) in Middle East, so Toyota can change the name for Asia & Euro for FR-S.
