Is this normal?

Can someone tell me if this sound is normal? If it is why is it doing that. If it's not, what is it and how can I fix it?

I just noticed it today, and I just hit 60k miles like a week ago. Go figure.

The occasional clicking or the chirps?

humfrz 02-28-2017 03:52 AM

Sounds like an FA20 engine running to me.

Has it just started making that chirp sound.. ??

If you have changed gas, maybe it's just the HP fuel pump doing it cricket thing and you just noticed it .....:iono: fer sure.

The "click" is most likely your A/C compressor's clutch engaging and disengaging.

Perfectly normal sounds is all I get from the vid.

HP fuel pump is the ticking- normal. The AC clutch was coming on and off- normal (though maybe too often, maybe get your AC system serviced? This is the time of year to do it)

Ticking time bomb, sell ASAP!

JK, normal.

Alright good. Just wanted to make sure. I didn't hear anything like that before, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention! xD

Get that fuel pump changed! Call the dealer and ask if you're car is eligible for the redesigned fuel pump to be installed as through the TSB. Search this thread.

Nope. Didn't hear shit. Normal DI clatter is all.

jasonojordan 02-28-2017 04:30 PM

Like everyone else. Normal. All I heard was the injectors and the ac compressor clutch

Yes, absolutely. Sit at idle for a couple minutes. It switches over to maintain a sub-stoichiometric mixture for super clean idle.

I was using my cheap ass headphones and thought I may have missed them. Was pretty sure they weren't there but you never know. OP may be asking again when it gets hot out.

Guilty. I usually try to stop myself. It really was unnecessary here. :(
