Many find the Invidia N1 exhaust too aggressive and the Q300 not quite aggressive enough. So the new Invidia Gemini R400 was created to fill that gap. Just like the Q300 the Gemini has no drone. It’s something your mother could easily drive to the grocery store without complaining about a thunderous exhaust leak. Something that can’t be said about the N1 exhaust.

http://blog.ft86speedfactory.com/wp-..._brz_86-13.jpg

The new Gemini system starts with a resonated mid pipe that flows into two uniquely stacked straight through mufflers, then exits out the dual 101mm polished stainless steel tips or the optional burnt blue titanium tips. It’s slightly louder than stock off throttle, but as soon as you hear it on a cold start or step into the accelerator pedal, everyone around you will hear the aggressive tone. It’s just loud enough to enjoy a twisty backroad, yet still tame at highway speeds to easily carry on a conversation without raising your voice.

If you’re looking for a daily driver exhaust that isn’t overbearingly loud and droney, then we seriously recommend the Gemini. It’s aggressive when you want but it’s still able to be reserved if you lighten up on the gas. However if you want a more aggressive tone, closer to that of the N1, you can simply pair the Gemini with a set of headers and front pipe.

Specs:
Idle: 71 db
Revving: 99 db
Piping Diameter: 70mm
Tip Diameter: 101mm
Tip Material: Polished Stainless or Titanium
Piping Material: 304 Stainless Steel

Have you had a chance to pair it up with a UEL??

Clipdat 02-24-2017 02:34 PM

It sounds pretty good and appears to be well made, but I'm a weirdo when it comes to exhausts like this that add a bunch of extra piping. It's like a mini maze is created for the exhaust gas to go through.

I can't help but imaging how much extra piping would be sticking out the back of the car if you made all those bends straight instead. Maybe that's why exhausts like the single exit straight through style appeal to me the most.

Cubix 02-24-2017 03:57 PM

How much does the whole package weigh? Less than stock I hope?

zc06_kisstherain 02-24-2017 04:32 PM

nice and Invidia made wise choice of getting rid of slip joints like Q300 pipe.
I still think Q300 is way to go if you're going with header

finch1750 02-24-2017 05:06 PM

In for weight. And for a vid as a full headerback

Keenercarguy 03-07-2017 10:54 AM

I look forward to these being everywhere instead of N1's

jasonojordan 03-07-2017 11:20 AM

I just got the q300 on trade for my N1 so if the Q300 does not fill the need I guess that this might be the next stop provided it does not weight a ton... Also in for the weight.

That'd be nice, but unfortunately I don't see that happening, considering that the exhaust costs about double what most people are paying for N1s. Cheap-ass hardparkers with bad taste will continue to buy the crappy fart can N1 like crazy.

But this does seem like a pretty nice exhaust for a reasonable price, for those of us with some taste. ;)

Keenercarguy 03-07-2017 12:01 PM

Hey a man can dream that everyone will have some semblance of taste lol

Also in for information on this with a header, plus the decibels for said header- catback combo… need to quiet my setup down a bit. Also: price?

I don't own an N1, but my exhaust is plenty loud...I have poor taste?

Depends on the exhaust. You can have a loud exhaust that doesn't sound bad.

Have you ever heard the GTLM cars at an IMSA race?

I just think the N1 sounds like garbage.

Hardly more quiet than an N1 it seems. I don't know why folks put up an exhaust video and then fill it with random shots and music... :iono:

Maybe is a millennial trend

Does this muffler sits low or it's just the angle of the picture?

With a little bit of extra hands courtesy of some friends, I was able to install the R400 very easily on Friday.

It sounds awesome. Plenty of volume but not too loud (quiets down nicely when cruising on the highway, no drone whatsoever), and has a nice, deep-tone to it which is the furthest thing away from ricey fartcan for me.

Definetly louder than the Q300, but not N1-obnoxious.

The catback itself looks very well constructed, and although I was worried about possible clearance issues with the rear mufflers (considering how they're positioned), it seems perfectly fine and I shouldn't run into any issues.

Only issue which seems to be prevalent with all 86/BRZ owners is some difficulty lining up the tips correctly. For me, after some adjustment, the passenger side still sits ever so slightly closer to the diffuser and inboard compared to the drivers side. Maybe a set of extended hangers should remedy the issue?

I'll get my DSLR, Shure mic and Tripod out later this week and record some sound clips for everyone!

The muffler does hang lower than stock, but it's not as bad as I was expecting. You lose about 3/4" over stock in terms of clearance, IIRC.

Clipdat 07-05-2017 12:30 PM

I'm glad it sounds good, but I really do not like how that looks from behind. The second canister sitting that low would bug me.

Somerandom18 07-11-2017 02:03 PM

Anyone know how much it weighs?

Funnily .. but seeing lower diameter tubes inside of tips almost makes me wish to have exhaust WITHOUT large diameter end tips that each and every aftermarket exhaust has. It looks more function / less posing.

Yeah, if the tips were double walled and or if they were able to mask/black out the lower diameter tubing in the muffler component, it would look better for sure. I may hit it with some high temp black down the road.

For those who are curious how it sounds without all the wub wub from ft86speedfactory's video (love you guys I swear!), here you go:

Somerandom18 07-12-2017 11:23 AM

Ordered this. Going to be running it with a catless unresonated fp on stock header (2017my)/overpipe for a while. Can't wait for UPS to show up with it. 😬

Picked it up online from ft86motorsports.com. Was special order at the time, so it took about 3 weeks to come in.

Wow this sounds great. I wish the Tip walls were thicker. This would be perfect it if sounded like this but with the stock MY17 tips.
