I bought the top one in a 3 story shop near Nishiki Market in while visiting Kyoto last year.

Shinigami301 02-20-2017 01:17 PM

There's a shop under the Yaesu side of Tokyo station that specializes in this stuff. Unbelievable variety of these.

Man, one of these would look cool on a shelf. I want one :w00t:

THere are SO many variations/special editions of Tomica's. I have over 20 different special editions, the KFC and Toys R Us ones are my favorite. I'll have to post a photo at some point.

Wait wait wait, these guys are all talking about Japan it sounds like. Are these available at toys r us in the states? I've been meaning to go there and find a cheap rc drift car, but if i can find one of these, that'd be even cooler.

If you search "Takara Tomy Toyota" on amazon they have the hotwheel sized Toyota 86 as well as the AE and FRS, but they DO have a drift RC Car.

The ones here are the little ones. I have the bottom one shown. What my wife paid for it as a Christmas present put the value of the real car at about #1.8 million!

Here in the US i havent seen much of that considering I'm not reallly in the market for it. I will say I've considered getting this and a stand to place it on with the hood and doors open for my shelf / desk area

Thank you sir...for some reason I always forget about eBay.

After seeing the actual model maybe I'll wait for the bigger glue model version...lol. Thanks again though!

They're all hot wheels sized. There are probably more than 40+ variations for the 86 alone, not even counting BRZ. They tend to be free at a lot of the Tomica shows in Japan or a few hundred yen to purchase. Some of the memorable ones: KFC (Yes the chicken place), Toys R Us, GRMN, and the "style" edition ones.

If you buy the glue one watch for my build thread in off topic in a month or so. I build models competitively so will have some tips and techniques in the thread.
There are several choices in plastic but they are not cheap.

I was once into 1/10 drift RC and have a Yokomo drift chassis, might get back into it. I also came across a 86 Rocket Bunny body.

Make something like this.

That is a pile of cars (literally and figuratively)

I have no where near that many but what I do have are much much older since I have had them for 50+ years
