Whiteout FRS, Tyson's corner~

Flat Black VW 07-23-2012 12:48 PM

I know of a location in tysons corner where we can have a meet. I was talking to the building manager the other day and he said he loves when groups meet in his garage. Its the business center next to Golfdom and the carwash, across from tysons ford.

I'd be down to meet any day of the week after 6pm, when or where works for everyone else?

seannyice81 07-23-2012 08:40 PM

Im good for that.

Maybe get lunch at Chicks n Wings?

Echo 07-24-2012 02:26 AM

Any day of the week after 6. Weekends...gotta plan.

iiviiystyle 07-25-2012 11:42 AM

Hi guys I am a new member here and I just got a whiteout fr-s! I am down for a meet too.

nataku 07-26-2012 02:39 PM

Hey I'm around Tysons as well, work around Herndon. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if the meet happens, it'd be cool to see some more FRS's. I've only seen one on the road, one at an autocross in MD, and one if my friends parking garage around Merrifield.

Keep an eye out for a hot lava FRS with some vanity plates! You'll know me when you see me haha.

RiceCooker 07-26-2012 03:05 PM

I live in MD and work in VA, I pass Tysons on the way to and from work. I'm in.

Grishbok 07-30-2012 07:02 PM

Just got my hands on a Scion FRS after my other car got totalled, you don't even want to know what we had to do to get this car. I work in Ashburn, and live in fairfax. Raven-Black in color, feel free to wave if you see me.

polarbear 08-06-2012 07:15 PM

I'm here in Chantilly. Don't have my FR-S yet, but it should be in at the end of this month. I know my boyfriend takes his IS300 out to Chic-fil-a in Dulles/Sterling to meet up with his forum buddies. It's every Friday until it gets cold around 7 or 8. It would be pretty cool to have a decent showing of FR-S's there. I haven't been in a long time, so I don't know if there are people on this forum that already go regularly.

There are a bunch of different groups of cars there so it's not an exclusive thing at all. I've been told my car will be coming in around 08/22, and I'll definitely be bringing it out! You could be the crew that I roll with! Totally kidding - I'm not that corny/ricey... :P

polarbear 08-06-2012 07:18 PM

Also, just want to put it out there that I do not agree with the COO of Chic-fil-a's views on gay marriage. :offtopic:

Its_the_Wifez 08-07-2012 10:59 AM

I'm not sure about the FR-S people, but there are always people there on Friday. I might ask camelflage if his Lexus buddies will be there. If he goes I'll be going with him - just don't have my FR-S yet.

Damn, I wish I could eat Chick-fil-a everyday... I'll definitely be eating some if I go there Friday.

Anyone in the NOVA/Herndon area willing to let me test drive their FR-S/BRZ? I need to make a decision between this and an STI, pronto. I know they're totally different, but at least I've driven an STI.

I am sure you can make a decision on paper, do you have a daily driver ? If so then decision = FRSS/BRZ

if you don't then I would not recommend

depending on your needs in a daily driver. I use mine as one and I have no problems, I also don't haul much around in terms of people or stuff.

I mainly think about cargo and the weather situation here in DC. Be prepared for everything is my policy snow and rain which this car IMHO is not suite the best for

Im def taking my car down to work tomorrow. If you guys, are going to chick fil a, let me know a time and I'll stop by :)

Flat Black VW 08-09-2012 09:24 PM

I'll be heading out that way with a few other subies after work. Probably leave around 6 from Tyson's and get there at 6:45-7 depending on traffic.

i am interested to see how this car works in the snow. i know it doesnt snow much here, but when it does its usually a doozy. my is300 is hands down the scariest car i have ever driven in the snow, and im not short on experience. if the snow mode on this car is anything like the one on my IS, it'll be marginally beneficial at best, but then technology might have improved a good deal in the past decade. i think putting a set of narrow snow tires on it combined with the lighter weight might really help. nothing can make up for proper driving technique in inclement weather though..

Unless your Name is Takumi then I expect snow driving to be just as good as any other rwd car. Even stock with thin tires this car is a oversteer master so I exepct with snow thrown into the formula it would be quite the challenge.

FWD or AWD for the snow or rain is my policy.
