Highest Mileage Canadian FRS/BRZ?

Just stumbled upon this...2013 FRS with 171,000Km!!!

I haven't seen a Canadian FRS/BRZ with this much mileage before. Crazy to see someone drive it so much haha.
I don't know about Tcoat...maybe he has more since he always drives a lot.

Anyways, It's nice to see this though...looks like the engines are long lasting if you don't fool around with them.

What about the highest mileage 86 though? Surely it is best version of this platform? No 86 swap badged cars allowed in this study.

Nah fam. 86 is spiritual. Model years aren't important here. It's all about what the owner perceives.

finch1750 01-14-2017 05:52 PM

Yeah...I think @Tcoat will have it iirc. If not he will very shortly

SLVRSRFR 01-14-2017 07:20 PM

Dang. That's crazy!

I'm getting up there. I put way too many KM's on my car.

Purchased August 2014 with 986km on it.

I have just turned over 92,000km as of this morning on my way to work.

Ugh.

Pbrown 01-14-2017 07:57 PM

95,000 km

I have 95000 km on mine. Hoping to make it to 200000 km when all is said and done. Although I have to admit that I am thinking about trading in for new one and immediately putting the JRSC kit on it and transfer all the bits and pieces I have on my current ride over. Just waiting for the Supra/FT1 pricing to come out.

Tcoat 01-14-2017 11:44 PM

I am anly at 168K but it is a 2014 bought in late 2015. Would normally be way over that but my one Windsor plant was down for 4 months and when I had a 4th plant added I cut my trips to Windsor back to once a week so am probably about 80K lower than I would have been if I followed the same schedule I did before.

Lorico 01-15-2017 12:08 PM

any issues so far?

wparsons 01-15-2017 02:43 PM

I'm at ~135k, with more than 30 track days on it. No issues yet, but there's a bit of an oil leak developing that could turn into a giant pain if it turns out to be a valve cover gasket.

Probably is. Unless you didnt tighten your oil filter enough.

Nothing. Not one. Nada.

No issues at all. 2nd gear is super notchy when the transmission is cold, but that's it. I get noise from the throw out bearing sometimes, but it's still REALLY intermittent. When I pull it apart to do that I'll be changing out the clutch though, no desire to drop the gearbox twice.

It's not coming from the filter area, it's at the back of the drivers side valve cover :(

I've got an oil cooler, so I keep a closer eye on any oil seeping from around the sandwich plate and that area is totally clean.

Rakshaa 01-18-2017 09:04 AM

I'm approaching 97k now - not a single issue so far :)

Did you guys change your spark plugs at 100k? What other services outside of the recommended ones did you do?

jvincent 01-18-2017 11:00 AM

Just hit 100k yesterday. Picked my car up in Oct 13.

I like how in Milton the city planning department have this saying "Live, work & play in Milton"...yet 90% of the population travels outside of Milton for work & play haha :D

I'm still at 26,000km by the way

But as I mentioned earlier, it's so awesome to see that our cars are reaching higher mileage without issue :)

Well done Toyota & Subaru.

Damn that's like garage queen mileage right there!

Yes it is funny - nobody is home in Milton during the day as everyone commutes, and in the evening everything closes at 9 or earlier, so if you want to go out then Mississauga or Toronto it is :p

I believe I'm around 96,000. I had to replace the coil on cylinder 1 and the throw out bearing needs done. Other than that, no issues here. Hopefully it stays that way with boost being added this year....

If you don't mind, how did you know to replace the coil on cylinder 1? Rough idle?

It throws a check engine light, normally under full throttle initially.

Did you do the plugs first? I was getting a consistent CEL on one coil, and it has completely gone away after changing the plugs.

Legit walked out to my garage and took a pic. It Had a release bearing around 150k, otherwise to the best of my knowledge only maintained. I was planning to refresh the motor but was talked out of it as it runs well and makes good oil pressure . At this point I'm curious to see how long it will last.

That oil leak is probably the timing cover as there is a small o ring where the dip stick goes through that is defective and will leak oil into your header. I had mine repalced under warranty and I'm at 90K. You should see oil sweat below your dip stick, this will the leak but it won't look like it.

It was all over the top back part of the valve cover, it would've had to travel pretty far to get there from the dipstick. I'll take a closer look in the spring.

Leaky cam plate?

wparsons 02-06-2017 09:48 PM

Isn't the cam plate the passenger side? Mine is the drivers side cover :(

70k, in service date March 31st 2015.

Daily driven, tracked, winter driven.

Replaced my spark plugs a few days ago, the condition wasn't bad at all. Gonna keep them as spares :)

I was in the car today, definitely not photoshop! It still pulls strong (I was coaching at a lapping day) and runs really well!
