Bought used frs, random cable?

Hi all,
I just bought a used 2015 frs with 12k miles on it!
It came with a Borla exhaust and a cable that I'm not sure what it is.

My question to all of you is if you could help identify exactly what exhaust it is and what this random cable that I have coming out of under where the cupholder goes is.

Also please let me know if you see any other mods, I didn't.

The muffler says Borla. I'm assuming the exhaust is a Borla.

edit: Smartass comment aside, looks like Borla axleback.

I have the same Borla except mine is just the axleback.

Flux capacitor control. Do not set to 1955 and do 88MPH!

yeah it is an optional upgrade from the dealer.
i have it on mine and it sounds good for what it is.

That cable is for your muffler. It turns down/up the sound of the Borla muffler.

Thanks everyone!
Sadly, if there was an amp the old owner took it and left the cables :(
I'm thinking of doing a sound tube delete tomorrow lol, anyone do the same?

strat61caster 12-29-2016 11:19 PM

Battery has been replaced, suspicious on a <2 year old car with only 12k miles.

Also missing the red plastic terminal cover.

Worst case scenario it was a ghetto wiring job for the amp that killed the OE battery (mine is doing fine after 4 years and 55k miles) and the problem is still lingering unfixed despite removal of the amp and whatever other changes there were, best case it died on the lot or by some sort of user error (left the lights on a few too many times), or the PO replaced it for something lighter (it does look a bit smaller) or for some silly reason.

Check out a regular 2015, maybe I'm wrong and they changed battery suppliers, but I doubt it, that Panasonic battery seems to be ubiquitous in every photo I see.

Edit: Looking at OP's photo the battery does not appear to be secured at all and the handle is broken, secure it asap please.

Everything else looks reasonable (aside from the use of armorall in the engine bay, fuckin' dealerships man) based on the pics, maybe it's nothingn, enjoy.

It's simpler (and reversible) just to take the plug, that's for the cigarette lighter outlet (behind the glove box), and stick it in the sound tube outlet, which is located behind the passenger side floor mat on the firewall ...... ;)

After you have made about 10 posts, a "thanks" button will appear at the bottom of people's posts. You may punch it, if you think the post is noteworthy......:)

If you haven't already done it fix the above before worrying about sound tube deletes.
With a loose battery and open positive terminal you are one hard stop or light tap away from an exploding battery at best and a burnt up car at worst. Head to the nearest auto wrecker and grab a tie down and cover ASAP.

I can confirm this. The previous owner of my FRS had the knob mounted on the dash, wire ran through the console, and coiled up in the trunk. But for some odd reason forgot to leave the amp/sub it was attached to! So it's there if you run a compatible amp. Plug your land-line phone into it in the meantime.

That does look like the one that's on, thanks!

Luckily I'll be upgrading my audio at some point, but idk if I'll be actually using the knob lol, I'll probably find out how to remove it
Also I'm getting on the battery stuff asap

What were the first things everyone did to their cars? (Upgrade audio, new rims, etc?)

Heck, "everybody" has done almost "everything" to their cars ...... :party0030:

IMHO, with you living in Florida (don't need winter tires), there is really nothing that you need to do to your car, for average driving, especially since you already have a aftermarket muffler and a drop in air filter.

I would suggest you drive it stock for a few weeks, then decide if there is anything you would like it to do/look better/different.

Just because some folks modify their car, the modification(s) don't necessarily make it better, other than for specialized uses (tracking for example).

+1 to what strat61caster noticed. Get that battery tied down properly and cover that positive post before the whole thing goes up in flames.

Dead serious. Do this today.
