That is just an upgrade to an existing kit it seems.

Nobody_86 12-12-2016 09:30 PM

Yep. This question gets asked about twice a month. Even though the note is very clear it is a version upgrade.

I'm going to sell my car for $5K with a picture of it and then under the description put
* "one ride around block".

They're still freakin jerkfaces for not posting up what you are actually getting. They even have a "This Item Also Available In" link so you can actually purchase what is being shown
where you see the actual whole kit. So the excuse that they don't have a picture of what they are selling is garbage. They are just playing games. What they are doing is often done on Ebay
to scam people who aren't paying attention enough.

I thought he seriously meant 10 inch wheels. What am I missing here?

It is obviously a typo. I just hope he didn't mean 19" or 20" because then it wouldn't be funny.

Awww sad. My car came from the dealership with 19" Milan rims. Are 19" rims tacky or bad for the car?

Even though that's just a photoshop, I actually find that strangely appealing.

Not bad but can indeed be tacky depending on what is done with them! It is not so much the size of the wheels but how they are used.

Oh, I don't have any absurd camber or anything. It just knocks out a bit more of the wheel gap. It took a little bit of getting used to, with the whole gap between rotor and wheel thing, but it actually turned out looking pretty classy with the lowering springs.

I personally wouldn't have done it myself, but the dealership through the wheels and springs on for free when I said I wanted the car stock, so I am pretty happy with it. The only downside is that the car rides super stiff now, so I might have to get a new suspension setup.

But a 19" wheel should just have a thinner walled tire so the outer diameter remains the same so it should not have any effect on the gap. Replacement tires would cost a fortune.

They do... I'm on 265/30/ZR19 tires. It's 800 bucks for decent all-weather tires. But the amount of grip the summers have is definitely intense.

roddy 12-13-2016 08:30 AM

10" wide wheels maybe?

That photoshop reminds me of that GM/Saturn EV1 electric car from 20 years ago or so.

Be careful posting shit like this. Not everyone realizes that it was meant as a joke; that is how the stupid camber thing got started. :barf:

I was going to respond that there is no way this would become a fad but then thought better of it. We should see the threads start up any moment now. The battles between the stance and mini wheel crowd would be fun. Wonder if the mini guys would still call it "fitment" though?

LOL that is what I figured.
To go that size you are going to have to start getting into body kits and major suspension work so you may want to do a pile more research into just what all is involved before making up your mind.

Nobody_86 12-14-2016 01:06 PM

Will do thanks!

On a side note, @Tcoat has managed to get this thread derailed to the point that it actually got moved into the wrong sub-forum.

Awesome job.
