Engine will not turn off!
Hey, I have a 2015 FRS, this just started happening a couple weeks ago.
When my hazards are on, I can turn the key off, all gauges, lights etc. turn off like normal but the engine stays running, even with the key out. Put the key back in, turn the hazards off and turn key off and it'll turn off. And ideas? |
Well that is a new one!
All stock? No mods of any kind (other than wheels or suspension) |
Do you have a remote starter installed?
|
wait... how often do you need to turn off the car while your hazards are on?
This sounds like a real minor inconvenience, just turn your engine off first and then activate the hazards. |

Could have be a bad Ignition Switch? does the same thing happen without the Hazard light being on?

Are you by any chance using one of those cheap flasher modules (for avoiding hyperflashing with LED bulbs)? If so, try putting the stock flasher back in.
Nonsense you say? When I first put LED bulbs and a cheap flasher, with everything off other than the hazards, I heard weird sound with something on the dash lighting up dimly. I'm thinking it was maybe the fuel pump. I immediately took that garbage out and picked up a Tap-turn module (Canadian). I opened up the cheap flasher module and found 9V relays in it. Garbage. In the end, there's really no reason to use one. You can just mod the stock one to work with LEDs. See http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...97&postcount=8 |
Anyone else wanting to see a video of this? Haha..
Sorry, this is absolutely no help |

Then @Ultramaroon ask you a question ........ and you spouted off with some dribble about "But I'm not the one with the problem". Your first step to recovery is to admit that you have a problem ...... No wonder @Tcoat gets impatient with posters ...... that have problems, then deny that they have a problem ....... and THEN don't follow advice to solve their problem. Comments ......... :paddle: humfrz |

Like, back-in-the-day, down at the local garage, asking one of the more experienced guys to help you rebuild a carburetor, then walking away and going over to the coke machine and having a coke while sitting down on a milk carton ...... :eyebulge: Just try that twice ....... :mad0259: humfrz |
Read this thread yesterday... Tried "it" after work. Turned my car on, turned my hazards on, turned my car off. Engine turned off, hazards stay on.
I got nothing. |

Maybe OP will return to his thread... An OP is like the captain of a ship, you have to remain on it to get help. Or watch it sink as your ship (thread) is thrust into utter chaos without its captain! |

Guys. Guys. No need to jump to conclusions about the OP. My guess is he saw the questions about the flasher relay, and went out to his garage to take a look at it. Spent 20 minutes trying to reach up under the dash to remove it, cutting his wrists in the process, and between the blood loss and the carbon monoxide poisoning from his still-running engine, he probably died.
RIP, OP. |
Stang, I literally laughed out loud! So I can legitimately say "LOL"!
