Hoooray they finally announced it! I would indeed buy that in a heartbeat if I needed a new one.
Wonder just how many "limited quantities" is? Bet they all go in orders.

"This limited volume sports coupe derives its name from the Japanese word for lightning, which describes its capabilities perfectly"

I really think they should get the marketing team hype writers to drive these cars before publishing their statements!

Zaku 12-06-2016 12:54 PM

ooooooooooooooooooo Fancy!

bcj 12-06-2016 01:05 PM

Jaune

CBR600RR 12-06-2016 01:07 PM

My local dealer told me the volume is 1 per dealer

Zaku 12-06-2016 01:15 PM

so.... how do you say yellow is Canadian?

Im sure in some parts of the USA they would say "Yellar" "YELL LOOWWW"

hahaha

~el~jefe~ 12-06-2016 02:44 PM

I don't know what I would do with this car for 10 years as a daily driver. It is flat yellow, non metallic right?

Azzudien 12-06-2016 03:11 PM

eh?

If similar to the RS1 yes it is just yellow no pearl or metallic. Not sure if the same though so could be wrong.
I was actually a bit (just a tiny bit) disappointed in the looks of the RS1 in real life since in pics the yellow rocked. In person it is just sort o meh. I would still buy it though.

DatsunDimer 12-06-2016 03:19 PM

The U.S. sales brochure does indicate it will be solid, non-metallic paint. To me, the new yellow is more of a true yellow compared to the slightly school bus/orange tint of the RS1.

~el~jefe~ 12-06-2016 03:23 PM

I would hit it if it had metallic yellow. I would put a deposit on it today.

I liked the flat color hyperblue however. Yellow... It would be interesting if I had four cars. I have only one at a time. Hm. Inside is neat though.

Azzudien 12-06-2016 04:16 PM

On my order form it is actually listed as "Charlesite Yellow". If you google that term and click on images it is kinda funny. Bunch of rock pictures and the series yellow BRZ

Ultramaroon 12-06-2016 04:26 PM

Yellow, eh?

Looks really nice.

"Available for $32,695 MSRP the 2017 BRZ 稲妻 Inazuma Edition offers high-voltage handling and performance and will be available in limited quantities in early 2017 throughout Subaru dealerships across Canada."

Hmmm...

wbradley 12-06-2016 10:04 PM

I just want the Brembos. Maybe some rich kid will get bored of his twin and sell me their BBK for cheap when I'm ready. Then all I need is a racing seat to be a real poser.

Hmmm...

Well it appears that their definition of "winter" is sometime in March so "early" is probably around June.

With as slow as the 2017s are to release, you have to think all the Yellows will be run at the same time. Wouldn't surprise me if they merged the U.S. and Canada releases in the April/May area.

I want those officially listed as 2017.5 models at this rate :sigh:

Sport-Tech 12-07-2016 09:24 AM

This confirms what a sales manager showed me in an internal email back in October as far as the spec goes - good that it's not a decontented special edition for Canada like it's been in the past. For the added $2700 I'm not seeing a great deal of value - if the rims were forged alloys (which they don't seem to be, it would have been mentioned in the press release) then it would have been a more reasonable markup.

The PP is $1586 CAD at current conversion rates so for your extra $1100 or so you are getting a run of the mill solid yellow paint and a few trim colour changes.

It is obviously cool enough of an investment that you have the new yellow brz as your avatar image.

I think 500 limited edition warrants a higher payout, personally i do think so. I am not interested in the color though as it looks a bit taxi-cabbish for NY City. would confuse people

I guess it's a good thing I won't be transferring my plates to my Yellow, otherwise people would really be all jacked up. Plates read as "UBER ROO", they were originally on my LGT, then I moved them to my STI, sold the STI and am going to let them expire. I got the plates before Uber was even a big company, but I constantly get asked if I am an Uber driver. Just imagine those plates on a yellow car... :bonk:

WWFT86 12-08-2016 03:23 AM

Does this mean the Brembo brakes from this series will be available as parts to other BRZ owners, or you'll need a VIN number?

Impureclient 12-08-2016 03:32 AM

What kind of lift kit does it come with? That must be at least a 1.5" increase there.

Sport-Tech 12-08-2016 05:22 PM

The yellow looks nice in a tiny avatar image, which is why I have it ....life-size it's not so successful IMO. At least on this car - it did look good on a new Mustang coupe I saw today.

One other point on the premium you'll pay for a Yellow: there is no way you will be getting a Series Yellow in Canada for less than MSRP - but for a Sport-tech you should be able to knock $1500-2000 off its MSRP with proper negotiation, so the real difference in price will be north of 4k CAD.

That's dependent on the time of year, but you're right. I was offered $1,550 off my Sport-Tech without asking.

Though that might have to do with me flipping the original into a ditch and them feeling sorry for me.

Our local dealer has one coming in so the one per dealership sounds about right. Price is fixed meaning, not negotiable. The $32,695 does NOT include PDI, freight, dealer fees, plates or taxes.
I was just quoted $39,500 out the door. The car is built and waiting to be loaded onto a ship. The salesman told me the car would be here in 8 to 12 weeks.
Furthermore, he said he had no information about a Performance Package for the 2017 BRZ. As far as he knows, (at this time) the only way we in Canada can get Brembo brakes and the Sachs suspension is to order one of these Inazuma limited editions.

I spoke to the dealer in London last week and he said he wasn't sure if built yet but did know it was expected in early March so the timing is about the same. They are also only getting one and the price was not negotiable but it is already sold. The dealer in Stratford is not getting one (they were a bit pissed about it) so not all the dealers will have them.

Oh, and both places had no idea if we would see the PP here but were not optimistic.

Continental drift is a bitch!

I laugh when many Americans ask me how it is "up there" in Canada when over a third of the US is well north of me..
http://www.citymetric.com/sites/defa...nada_vs_us.png

Even the rest of the world that think Canada is way up north don't realize that half our population is actually more in line with southern France, northern Spain or most of Italy. Where I live (just a hair above the point on bottom red marker) is pretty much even with Madrid or Florence Italy.

This concludes today's geography lesson.

At the dealership near me, you can negotiate and get one. They dont give a crap about japanese cultures or racer stuff on long island.
