Dream Car Time

Ok, i originally wanted to call this thread, "If you could have sex with one car, what would it be?", but that seemed a little long and weird... But the premise still stands.

What is the one car that you would do anything to have for whatever reasons you would want it?

I'll go first... the only car that can have first place in my heart is definately a stretch away. The Ferrari F40 Competizione
http://www.supercars.net/carpics/331...ari_F40LM1.jpg
Huuuuuuuuge fan of these glorious feats of automotive engineering. The last car that Enzo Ferrari himself designed before his death. Everything about it screams sexy from the aerodynamics, to it's lightweight.. everything. Top gear does an episode where they do nothing but praise this god of cars. Driving it in Forza, it takes off with the agility of an AWD car, corners like it's glued to the track, and powers away from anything i put near it.

So how about you guys...

Lexus LFA. And nothing even comes close to that. Maybe a McLaren F1.

how is the F1 "a remote competitor" of the LFA, a hackjob of a car that seemed to have missed the mark in most categories.

yeah, i went there :)

Which car are you saying is a hack job?

How would the LFA be considered a hackjob?

i'm not pulling out the grammar card. i'm simply reminding you of the various comma usages so that next time you won't have to ask people for clarification to obvious refrences.....

The LFA in my eyes is the delorean or NSX of our time.

you value the LFA above any other car, with the F1 being a distant 2nd, i get that, i'm just very surprised.

if you would have simply said "i want an LFA, i think it's a neat car", all would have been fine and dandy,

but this is the internet.

the moment you added the line "no other car compares", i couldn't resist picking up my flamethrower.

Well he did say "your" dream car. Not what is the best car ever. So when you said a hack job, I couldn't resist showing you where you're wrong.

7thgear 10-22-2013 01:50 PM

i uno, syntax on les internets is important

consider the following

"The Lexus LFA. Nothing else compares, except maybe an F1"

vs

"my dream car is the LFA, with the F1 a possible second"

or

"i would love to have an LFA, or maybe an F1, i love both these cars"

see the difference? Language is a powerful tool.

Cool, I also choose the LFA.

Or you could just take it the way I said it. Nothing comes close to my dream of owning an LFA. Maybe (as I in I might also take) an F1.

There's just something to be said of a car company that buys cars back from their clients to hand build an even more amazing example of the original.

McLaren F1 LM. 680hp, 8500rpm V12, in a car 500 pounds lighter than the BRZ/FR-S. Lower, stiffer, lighter, and more responsive than the regular McLaren F1. And, to top it all off, it looks like this:

I already have my dream car. The Nissan GT-R R35… I have wanted a GT-R since first arriving in Japan in 1996 and I always talked myself out of buying one. I just saved my money and kept the dream alive. I almost pulled the string in 2009 but my job prevented me from getting one. Finally I bit the bullet in 2013 and it truly is a dream come true. Every time I see a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, or you name it expensive super car I have a sense of pride in knowing that my GT-R makes those cars look really silly on a race track for a fraction of the cost. I am so happy that I did not overpay for true performance.

Some people do not like the looks of the GT-R but to me it is a piece of artwork. It just looks and drives in a way that is menacing and it kind of feels like you are a predator hunting for prey…

In a sense the BRZ is the same way with regard to its performance potential and what you get for the money. I have been blessed to own two of my most highly desired cars at the same time and I am very thankful.

I saw one last night! An orange one, while I was at Sonic talking to some car friends here in STL.

They are really breathtaking cars! I felt like a kid again getting so excited to hear it get on the highway

The irony is, after dumping my money into buying such a phenomenal track car, I'd be way too scared to actually track it :(
