Production Numbers
Looking for production numbers by year, bonus points for including colors.
I know Toyota is rather tight lipped about it, and this may have been covered before, so apologies in advance. Ultimately trying to find out how many other MY16 Ravens were made :) |

There was some questionable data in and old thread someplace where a guy claimed to have found the breakdown of colours for the 2013 MY. From memory (and remember they were not official to start with): Black 20% White 20% Silver 15% Red 15% Blue 15% Grey 10% Orange 5% In summary when looking for the number of Ravens the total would be a shitload. |

I have sales numbers by month, but not separated out by color, model year, etc... Assuming MY16 sales *started* around Sept (because they're now selling MY17 Toyota 86's as of Sept)...
Between Sept 2015 and Sept 2016, 8495 FR-S were sold. Assuming 20% of them were Raven... That's a total of 1699 Raven examples for MY16. But, those numbers are gonna be inaccurate. |

Yep, sales numbers are easy to get but they don't mean much without production numbers. Could have sold 1000 black ones in one month and none in the next. |

http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2012/05...s-figures.html With 60k sold so far and almost no noteworthy trim levels or upgrades, the only 'rare' 86's will be Scion's silly release series and a late model orange car with MT. |

I find those numbers surprising. I see lots of orange, white, and red FR-Ss driving locally, but over the years, I can think of having seen only one silver one ever. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a blue one. Granted, I live in South Carolina and every car is a pickup truck. |

I never see Hot Lava or Ultramarine here. Everything else is very common in Northern California. I usually see more BRZs though.

Three thousand bucks for a different shade of paint and a bunch of 'features' I have zero interest in just never tickled my fancy. Glad you're happy with yours! |
Just remembered something - The dealer that I got mine from said there were only two MY16 Ravens, and a red(?) one left in all of Pennsylvania.

It's all about the headlights my man. The 86 just looks wrong without them. http://scionfremontca.fremontscion.c...s-at-NAIAS.jpg |

Edit: seriously, in that picture I guess that angular white bar is what you're excited about? I really don't care. Can't see it when I'm driving it, don't care what it looks like, and I'm strongly anti-HID. :burnrubber: |

I'm already in that club, and I'm the CEO. HIDs are one of the worst automotive trends, ever. |

NHTSA and IIHS are critical of most car manufacturer headlights for inducing too much glare for other motorists. The IIHS just released it's headlight report and labeled 1 out of 82 cars as 'good', literally 1 car passed their test with flying colors (the new Prius V btw). The base halogens in the Honda Accord is noted as scoring 'acceptable' while the LED 'upgrade' scores lower at 'marginal', likely due to glare. Quote:
What part of California are you driving in? Dumbasses up here don't slow down at all in the rain which is why every major freeway gets an accident during any noteworthy storm. I agree proper lighting and tires and brakes are absolutely necessary for safe motoring, but all of those come on a base model 86. |
Sounds like you are all good to go then on your exterior lighting situation then.
In some circumstances it is good to slow down a bit during a rain storm (especially when it is really dumping down) , but if it is light to moderate raining... and you have good tires ( I have Michelin hydroedge rain tires on my xA) , then posted speed limit can be maintained.. going that speed steady. I live where it doesn't rain much , 30 miles from the coast , however mainly rains (Dec-March ... off/on). We got about a 1/4" a week ago. |

Most fun I've had all month, just wish I was in my car and not someone elses, oh well. :burnrubber: |
ohhh yeah you are from SF.
That storm was pretty much from Santa Barbara and to the north. I think Sat. night was the heaviest point. The kicker with first storms of the season is the oil run off / dirty roads , so cars can get squirly out there, especially when rolling with a janky tire that almost has no tread left on it , and abrupt stopping going 30+ mph Stay safe folks |
