2017 Toyota 86 head unit help.....
I copied this from the Electronics forum, nobody over there gives a shite about stock stuff, maybe someone here knows.
The only thing I know about it is it sucks and it's called the AXLP-Q17U T10087. I don't have a manual for it and can not find anything on the web. Does anyone know how to (if possible) to get this POS to display and play in directory order, and most important, how to get this POS to roll over to the next album? Is there ANY head unit out there that still has buttons? I don't give a rats rear end about album images, track info, who farted in the studio, phone connectivity and anything else that requires you to look at the stupid thing to operate it. I want the unit from my '13 back. |
Check if you can find the manual for the 2016 Scion FR-S. It's the same headunit without Scion branding.
Or move to Japan and get this headunit. http://toyota.jp/86/interior/navi/ http://toyota.jp/pages/contents/86/0...vi_3_18_pc.png |

All I really want it to do is play the next album in directory order without intervention. That's all I want, even for Christmas. If I can get the stock unit to do that I'll be happy. What moron would design a head unit that requires you to actually look at it while driving?

I have one of these in the basement someplace. No looking and plays whatever you push in. Over and over and over and over and over. You would be stuck with music made up to about 1980 though.

I'll go back to the dealer, make a fuss and demand one.

I thought the BRZ FujitsuTen headunit was shit cuz the shuffle button shuffles my entire iPod instead of just the playlist (this option is hidden in a submenu).
My gf had a Pioneer aftermarket HU that wouldn't automatically move onto the next album either when the source is USB. Is this new HU a Pioneer? I thought it's a Clarion now. |

Then I guess once you figure out the brand, you can check out some manuals of that brand's headunits and see if there are clues as to what you want to do with it. IIRC the MY2017 Toyota 86 HU is a Pioneer and the BRZ is a Clarion for the US market. Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Toyota is such a ripoff. Scion gives you a nice little binder with a pen and a small first aid kit for the manual and paperwork. Does Toyota do this? NO! Bastards.....

Also, but on topic, and being totally ignorant of the specific unit, there is usually a setting that can be toggled on and off for playlists between the albums, are you saying that there is no such option? |

I've never been back to that particular Subaru dealer for service either. |
does it only play that particular album and repeats to track 1 of the same album? and what source are you playing from?
I have the same head unit but i'm fine with it... |

According to a quick read, I can not get the POS to play the next album unless there is some sort of playlist. Fuck the MP3 generation right in the ears. What sort of moron would not include that stone-simple basic playback mode?
I'll read again carefully after I wake up and have had more coffee. Meanwhile, TC's eight track is looking pretty good. I'll bet you can't even buy an HU with actual buttons. I'm going to go play Mental as Anything on the turntable, BRB. |

This if f-ing comical:
Do not connect an iPod or operate the device controls while driving How else to you get it do what you want, dumbass. Is Android supported? I'm not sure the 17 has an Aux input, either. If not, this POS will be on the roadside out near Jewell today. I am on the wrong side of the world today, sorry. |

I prefer physical over digital. Also if your an audiophile. CDs offer music in the original format, while for digital most buy in 192 or 320kbps when in fact they should be buying in Flac/Wav for the original source material. If you do buy in Flac/Wav it's very expensive so your better off buying the CD and having something physical in return. For example, all my CDs are ripped onto my computer in Flac for easy listening at home. In the car however I bring along the CDs :) I mostly buy Trance/Hard Dance/Hardtrance/Hardstyle/Hands Up/Uplifting/Bealeric series. (All electronica) I have a few Japanese albums and some Taiwanese albums also. Have about 300Cds in total currently :party0030: |
