Which version would you buy? Toyota, Scion, Subaru, or Lexus
Which version do you plan to buy? Assuming they had a variant in each of the 4 companies.
Obviously if there was a Lexus version it would be nicer quality but it would also cost more possibly pushing you into getting one of the other versions. Assume the drivetrain was the same throughout the line up and the differences were limited to interior and exterior styling. We already know what typical Scion's, Subaru's, Toyota's, and Lexus's have in terms of styling and assuming those styling cue carries over to the FT- 86 which would you most likely buy? Before I get flamed, which seems to be the norm around here, stfu! This probably is a waste of your time, but since you have nothing better to do stfu! If this is a huge waste of your time there is no need to waste even more time by crying about it! Good day! |
Toyota for me.
|
same price tag, same power. it would come down to looks. based of the concept II and the newest suby rendering id have to say the Toyota. but im not voting until i see something official from Subaru.

Wow a whole 5 posts, two new worthless threads, and you're already telling people to STFU. Yeah you'll fit in perfectly around here. How can anyone make a decision on wich version they would buy when we know absolutely nothing about the Subaru, Scion, or mythical Lexus versions? You called it.... huge waste of time. And I still vote :sm3: |

Right now people are just basing their opinions for this poll on badges and branding which imo is stupid. Anything could happen. Come April 20th Scion could release a concept that blows the original 2 toyota versions away (I doubt it but it could happen) OP said the differences were limited to interior and exterior styling only but we haven't seen official concepts of the other 3 versions so this thread is a waste of time. |

I should of added a 5th poll option, "I'm a douche, and I like to complain about everything". Maybe a modderator can add it, so you can go back and vote. |

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1033 Akihiro Nagaya, the manager of Toyota’s design division, told Autocar that the changes had been made after test drivers’ reaction to early prototypes of the car....Nagaya said the Geneva car was “a fair indication” of how the final production model could look when it arrives at the Tokyo show in December. |

Exactly, could. That is the key word. This car isn't in production. A lot can change in the meantime. On another note, I would prefer to get this as a Toyota however my wife gets Subaru cars at invoice with VIP pricing which would save ~$1500-2000 off of MSRP. No need to haggle and it is automatic. We shall see. |
There's no option for 'don't care, buying anyways'
|
@OldSkoolToys, Nice!!!! I agree, but ultimately in the end it will come down to the factory specs and looks.

That's because we already have a 7 page "are you gonna buy it no matter what?" thread ;) |

Never mind that where they to come into existence, these would be 3 fundamentally different cars, for 3 different markets (Toy and subbie considered as one). Look for rumors of a Lexus version popping up in next weeks motortrend front page citing a reliable source from FT-86 forum.... |
Putting lexus in here is pretty...unrealistic.
The lexus version is going to be premium, full luxury Lexus class interior with all the high end gadgetry and features. Then there's the thing under the hood. It's a lexus so itll have a AT MINIMUM a V6, probably F-Tuned engine. The price ranges are too big of a diff, i see a lexus version starting at 40 or 50 considering the IS would be directly hitting it..but then again this is a coupe so it could start in the 30's |
I will get what ever one that suits my needs and one I like...
Depending what ever comes out |
All those choices?
I'd take the Toyota. I get the feeling it'll be a Scion though Stateside, but whatever |
toyota all the way
|
I voted for Subaru. It's the brand image I feel would best represent my core automotive beliefs. This is all assuming the car is identical and only the badge changes.
In the real world, however, I feel that a Lexus branding would result in a superior dealership experience, from sales to service. The other brands [especially Subaru] have a far distance to go to improve service satisfaction. |
hmm... a Lexus version would be like a Sedan IS? right....that has me interested. I'm a huge fan of sports sedans and since a Hatch version might not be offered a Sedan might be a good alternative. I'm not voting till I see more official stuff from Lexus and Subaru. But in terms of Finances I would have to go with Scion since the price will be fixed and I got a feeling it would be more affordable if it wasn't a Toyota badge. Then again...not exactly thrilled about owning Scion anything.

I'd go for lexus>toyota>subaru>scion

I personally would really like to have this car as a Toyota. Nothing else.
|
Toyota or Subaru would be my choice depending on styling and price.

lol. Dude no, that concept is like 7 years old. Sure would be nice to have though... that roof NEEDS to make it to production. Anyway, I digress... I mean the usual habit of magazines picking up stupid "rumors" from off these boards and publishing them. |
Under Lexus this would NOT be a sedan, unless they base the IS off of this chassis.
Otherwise this would be a standalone coupe...hmm maybe a mini-SC one could say |
How many of you would still buy this, if it's a good sports coupe great price and it' badge a scion?I'm Jw cause there's so much hate for Scion lol
