And thats all of it. So the car is pretty much the same, except for some mechanical/ecu changes I think. Looks like theyve sorted out the gear rattle in manual on the new one

Tcoat 09-29-2016 06:46 AM

Dude this is all old news.
What is your point?

No point at all. Has this already been posted? I don't have time to look through every post. If its been posted well then my bad, if it hasnt im sure any 86 owner will find it interesting. Thats it...

It would indeed take a pile of reading to find since you bumped it down to the second from the top by making this thread.

These have not been announced for the 86 yet. Still just a BRZ option as part of a package.

Oh and since you are in Dubai or Kuwait or wherever you claim to be today and therefore have the European version of the car (I believe) then the 17s get the reduced wear internals ONLY. The European spec cars get NONE of the other engine or driveline improvements. Only Japan, Australia and North America get the changes.

Well im getting the gear assembly changed due to rattling at high rpm, parts from japan, so maybe its the updated version. Dealer warranty

They will send the part that your VIN number calls out not whatever just happens to be laying around so you will get the old final gear. They are just changing the gears for your rattle not swapping out the whole unit?

They are scattered through several treads and the whole brochure is someplace.
Doesn't hurt to have them all in one spot but they could have just been added to one of the many existing threads.

Wonder if those brembos are "swapable" for early models
Just plug and play

Yes. But to buy them separate it would cost a fortune. There are already aftermarket kits that do the same for less money.

Now... if getting them on the car with the Performance Package that includes the upgraded struts and wheels then they are one hell of a bargain for the price.

Either way they are only a benefit if you track the car or just want the looks. There is no advantage to them in a DD situation.

This is the thing that we can never plug and play. Changes made during the machining process

Not trying to be rude at all but these are just taken from the material that has been in PDF form for months. Anyone care to link the entire Release from Subaru so he can save some time posting individual pages.

There is a huge back story as to why he is all of a sudden posting what to the rest of us is old news. Too long to explain and all the threads have been deleted but in summary he tried to tell us he had this engine in his 2015 and we were all wrong when we said it didn't exist (in 14 when his car was built). It was a shit show and now he is trying to say he was right all along and his engine was different than all the rest.

He even resurrected an 8 month old thread to dispute a comment and start the whole thing over again.

I am just waiting for the statement to be made here although he has disguised his intent very well so far.

Was a great picture of an inline 4 off the Toyota site which was "The engine I have". Dealer slapped some paint mismatched TRD aero on a car and sold him a bill of goods. His only references were all the clickbaits that said the 2015s would be turbo/higher HP cars so he had one. I don't think any of his threads survived the resulting purge.

Tcoat 09-29-2016 11:35 AM

@Celica00 You want to take it from here?

Haha what? I was posting the differences between the old and new model and you're jumping all over me. I havent seen this info anywhere presented in simple pics so I thought you might find it interesting. If this is an exclusive forum just say so and there are other sites where a person can read interesting articles about the car. Its about the car not the op I think. Now its starting to get a bit tiring getting insulted and not retorting which is probably why you're doing it. Now listen here Tcoat the 86 is owned by people all over the world not to america and canada exclusively, your digs at my location etc are not related to the car, you have a problem where a person is located that's your problem as far as im concerned all I see are car enthusiasts. And the info you got wasnt about "a 2014" it was a 2016 model delivered in late 2015 not strange considering the 2017 are out now is it? You need to stop twisting facts around the way you see them. Thats your opinion, in late 2015 zik saw into the future and described to you an updated model in a lot of detail as well, for someone who didnt drive it he sure got a lot of it right, you know it, I know it. Distorting facts, or changing things to help your bruised ego dosent change anything, he was very accurate about the info he was giving you.... Thats all I have to say

Hey did you want the blueprints to the engine? Photo evidence... Rofl, what were u going to see on the photos? The same car? Or did you want unreleased material posted on a forum and how the hell would anyone have that. It was said verbally to him and he conveyed the message. True or not, you have to admit he got a lot of it right.... Anyway you have a great day and enjoy your 86

"His" Trd kit was changed and is now a matching color, that kit is JDM and is worth around 7,000$, I dont recall him mentioning any turbos. purge... Thats pretty dramatic. Ok round of camomile tea all around

No ego bruised here and the location references were simply the fact of where the claims were made and in no way a slam on that location nor the person. I stand corrected on the MY but it remains that was well over a year before the engine was even announced.

Oh and there are visible differences as per the pictures you yourself attached. Please send photo proof of "Zik's" car showing the updated parts and I would be very happy to write a formal apology.

I will not pursue this any further since as before there is no way to convince you otherwise.

Thats the car with the new kit. Now if it is the actual updated version that can be tested and as soon as that info is available you'll be the first person to see it. Enjoy your 86 and have a great day
