Post pictures of your scratched bumpershttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c636582514.jpg

Those scratches of yours are nothing. I'm sure everyone has some sort of scratches under the bumper... scratches no one sees unless you get on your knees.

Autocross bumper casualties. You should have seen the cone.

no pics of my BRZ, but the scratches are there taunting me at every car washing. On my Z4, I ran into a parking log and knocked the under engine pan loose so that it was dragging. Thank god I did it in front of Home Depot so that I could buy the necessary fasteners to get it back in place.

Awesome sticker, I want one :D

surfwaxsmitty 09-25-2016 01:23 AM

bro, those scratches a nothing! shooot probably happened when you hit that plastic bag, or possibly some strong wind.

Dont sweat it for a moment. Feel good that you and your car endure and do the damn thing in these streets lol if you get a bloody knuckle do you cry? no. you do however just clean it up and get back out into the world. scars and all, we keep moving.

lol ok thats all

humfrz 09-25-2016 02:19 AM

Nothing to feel bad about. About the only FR-S that doesn't have scratches under the front lip ...... hasn't ever been out of the garage.

No need to worry unless you whack it hard enough, that it breaks lose and is dragging on the ground.....;)

You should see what mine looks like after I did a night road rally last year. Didn't realize how much of a dip this curved part in a road had, scraped all the paint off a corner of the bumper.

Plus all the cones I hit during autocross and rocks flying my way on the highway.

geezerbrzeezer 09-25-2016 05:24 AM

I swore an oath that this wouldn't happen to me, bc anyone that scrapes is a douche, right? But I just had to have that Super Assorted from the Mr. Sub with the fucked up curb . . .

My car is black, but where the paint is scraped off, it's white. Jeez, now that ain't too noticeable. I compounded it, touched it up, polished it, and while it isn't perfect, it's on the underside so it's completely invisible now unless you're on your hands and knees.

So as long as my wife isn't giving me a bj in front of our BRZ, she'll never know.

I now chalk it up as a war wound.

They're just gonna fuckin' happen my friend.

Washed it and it's not that noticeable now. Lesson learned 😪

Thanks everyone, shit happens I guess 🍻

The first scratches are hard. I pulled into a steep driveway to turn around and heard the sickening grinding noise.

So now my front air dam has road rash but only seen if I lay on my back right in front of the car. I don't think of it unless I encounter threads like this one. And then it's " oh yeah, that happened to me too" and then move on to other matters.

When my neighbor had a 911 GT3, he used to put an area rug where his driveway meets the street before he pulled in.

Now that's a true car guy, and there are probably only one in ten thousand people who would get it.

austin_kw 09-25-2016 03:31 PM

Get a cheap poly front lip, it'll save your bumper.

Meh. It is just a car. In 10 to 20 years it will be crushed and turned into new cars.

Bowen 09-27-2016 04:05 PM

Cant be as bad as me, I drilled a hole through my bumper when installing my lip :/

I hate scrapping but I do it way too much... It pains everyone in my car and around me but sometimes it has to be done ;~;

Nah. It was a big, jagged, frozen solid to the ground, hidden by fresh snow, chuck of wheel well ice that I managed to just nicely slide against whale turning into a parking spot. Didn't notice the grinding going in so did it again on the way out and managed to even out the pattern.

It is a hidden hazard only the true northerners know about!

Yep it won but I didn't bend the frame or even lose any push pins! Just the two rhs rims are a write off, so I'm in the market for new rims next summer oh and a new bumper maybe body kit :p

shellslinger 09-29-2016 05:30 PM

Just get a front lip and hide the pain away

ChinatownDragon 10-13-2016 04:27 PM

It's okay, I've never heard any scraping or anything from my stock car. I decided to look down there out of curiosity one day and there were scratches underneath the fangs. Time to protect it with a ebay lip

Yeah what were you thinking? You need a splitter to protect the lip of course. On a more serious note, which one did you have and what did you hit?

STI lip. ABS, so it's not as flexible as the copies, which are PU. hit a concrete block at the end of a parking space like most other folks. This block wasn't centered in the space - it was centered between two spaces, so i didn't notice it.
