Toyota FR-S?
 

So I got my plates and registration in the mail and my registration lists Toyota as the make, not Scion. Anyone else have this on theirs? It also doesn't list the model anywhere, just the fact that it's a coupe.

I'm in CA btw

All Scion models are branded as Toyota when register in my state. Scion doesn't seem to be an independent brand yet.

My insurance says its a 2013 Toyota/Scion FRS 2-Door Coupe

Interesting, in Canada they list Scion as "Scion by Toyota" on registrations, at least in my province.

Edit: Just double checked and they are listing them as "Scion" now, no longer "by Toyota".

Just curious: is it the same with Lexus?

How about Infiniti and Acura?

State Farm insurance says Lexus.
I THINK it says Scion FR-S on the temporary insurance paper for my ride too :X

Oh yea. This is one confused car for sure. Scion badges, toyota and subaru stamps all over different parts. Lol

Ontario Canada here... My ownership says Toyota FR-S, but the insurance company says Toyota Scion FR-S.

It's odd that the legally registered corporation names aren't standard across Canada, actually. I wouldn't think would be something set at the provincial level, but I don't really know jack shit about this.

Oddly, even on my sales invoice it is listed as a Toyota FR-S. Strange.

In Louisiana, my xB is Toyota xB.. I expect the FR-S to be a Toyota as well. At least according to this state.

I think some people ended up with "Subaru FR-S" on their paperwork.

Minnesota = Toyota CP FR-S

But my car is marked/badged Subaru/Scion

I AM relieved I didn't buy a Toyopet or a Fair Lady or a Sylvia - some progress noted.

Infiniti is listed as Infiniti. I have to guess the same with others. It's quite odd to hear that Scion isn't officially independent.

As far as I know, there isn't such a thing as a stand alone Scion dealer. They are all tied to Toyota dealerships.

There is likely financial benefit to doing it this way. Taxes, CAFE numbers, etc.

In NJ the title only list the first 3 characters so my make is TOY (Toyota) and model is SCI (Scion FR-S). Strange.

So we can re-badge and not feel bad?
