Do you ever...

Do you ever find yourself bored, sitting around waiting for something or to go somewhere and you just want to hop in your car and drive? Then you think about the last time you looked at your odometer and realize that you do this too much already? I need a hobby.

:burnrubber: LOL

When I'm bored .... I usually visit this site.

weederr33 08-16-2016 03:50 PM

Sometimes if I'm bored or can't sleep I'll go for a ride. Miles don't matter.

"Sometimes you gotta go back to actually move forward.
I don't mean going back to reminisce or chase ghosts, I mean going back to see where you came from.
Where you've been, how you got there, see where you'er going.
I know there are those who say you can't go back.
Yes you can.
Just have to look in the right place.

I go for random drives almost every night. It started when I was trying to get through my break in period (took 2 days) and haven't stopped

g e 08-16-2016 04:08 PM

the first 6 months I owned the car no errand was too trivial or stupid to not drive out for.

It's only slightly lessened in a the soon to be three years I've had the car.

The sight of mountains in the distance is the siren's call.

wbradley 08-16-2016 04:11 PM

Yes, all the time. Straight to the highway closest to my house, windows down and where I can do some wide-open throttle pulls under bridges. My car actually sounds like a motorcycle when I do that.

See the pic in my avatar - No Odometer and still street legal (mostly)

Vintage racing. No modern tech. Brings you back to the basics.

Car designed to drive....
I drive it everyday.....my hobby is to drive...

fang_gt86 08-16-2016 04:44 PM

Gotta hit the twisted back roads once a week or I'd get antsy. Sometimes, I think I'm an a-car-holic...

Hot-Lava_Dave 08-16-2016 05:10 PM

This video sums up my bored/restless night perfectly. Well made too.....

I hate the times traffic is the least is when most people are asleep

ichitaka05 08-16-2016 06:17 PM

If you don't go on random drive with this car, you're not using this car right. lol

But seriously, it's the best part of this car. Just randomly go on drive on random roads you never been to or go to the road/canyon you always drive. See new things, take few pics and keep smiling driving this car. Specially go on canyon (not racing), cruise with your car buddies, stop here and there for group photos, talk shit at each other on walkie talkie and have good time.

MarkR171 08-16-2016 06:24 PM

Yep. In both cars.

Yup that does sum it up and to answer the ops question... yup, I find excuses to drive this car.... Love it. Cant get enough of it. Plus I get a kick out of people trying to gun their engine at me. LOL

I think the best storh I head was @PMok said he was going out for chicken wings and was gone for 3 hours after "getting lost in the mountains" on the way to Buffalo Wild Wings

Yal 08-17-2016 12:24 PM

The wife was feeling sickly last weekend so I decided she needed fresh mountain air. Drove from smoggy San Jose to Half Moon Bay on the coast. Four hours later I had some nice driving in and the wife was feeling better. Only thing that would have made it better would have been a convertible. Still miss my Z4 for rambling, pointless trips.

FR-Sky 08-29-2016 05:13 PM

I drive my car everyday.

darthpnoy1984 08-31-2016 05:25 PM

Do you ever...

I bought the car at 26100 miles in March and now at 35K miles I daily drive this car to commute to work 80 miles a day Carson to Lake Forest plus weekend side trips. Absolutely zero regrets the most fun Toyota I've ever owned. I intend to keep the 86 for a long time.
