Seeing more than expected?

Considering how few of these the dealers in Charlotte seem to be getting, I'm surprised by how many I've seen. Up to 7 now (4 FR-S 3 BRZ) just in the past 3 weeks!

Here's what I've seen (and where for those who know the area)

1 WRB Premium BRZ (at CMC Pineville)
1 WRB Limited BRZ (485 near Rocky River Rd)
1 SSM Limited BRZ (51 and Johnston)
2 Firestorm FR-S, possibly the same vehicle but one had a 30-day tag and tint, the other had a regular license and no tint and was seen after the first (First on South Blvd near Arrowood, second on 485 @ Johnston)
1 Raven FR-S (Epicentre parking deck)
1 Ultramarine FR-S (SC plates, on 77 near Billy Graham)

Anyone else surprised by how many seem to be in their area?

sbxjap 07-07-2012 01:49 PM

I'm surprised there are so few in Philadelphia....

brzmass12 07-07-2012 01:50 PM

Only seen one other, and that was an FR-S actually in the Boston area.

Sato Tatsuya 07-07-2012 01:51 PM

not quite, because there is so much demand for this car, and everybody wants it. In some ways this car no longer feels that special anymore, but meh!!

Come to the KOP meet! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10514

I've seen one FRS in the wild (as it blew by me :burnrubber:) and one white BRZ parked in a lot. I ended up meeting the driver a few weeks later when I pulled over in the same lot to use my GPS. (Henry post up so I know what your username is here!)

sbxjap 07-07-2012 01:53 PM

lol, no problem. I'll see you there.

DantKR 07-07-2012 01:58 PM

Seen 1 BRZ so far...

Spaceywilly 07-07-2012 03:30 PM

Well the weekend after I got mine was wicked big meet, so I saw about 8 there. Since then I've seen 1 fr-s.

86X86 07-07-2012 03:40 PM

Have yet to see either yet.

But then, I don't get out much... :sigh:

Wigmasterflex 07-07-2012 03:45 PM

I have not seen another one in the downtown Seattle area yet, lonely and satisfying at the same time lol

Jayde 07-07-2012 09:14 PM

Other then the others I saw at the meet in Jersey and 3 I've seen on dealer lots, I have yet to see another on the road.

Sportsguy83 07-07-2012 09:32 PM

I've only seen two FRS's, no BRZ's in Miami

Mazdaspeed 07-07-2012 09:52 PM

It probably has to do with the area you live in getting more allocations than normal or something. Around the Orlando area I've seen only one Hot Lava FRS from about a quarter mile away passing between bushes at an intersection while I was about 30 minutes away from home. Weird thing is, I saw this FRS only about 5 minutes after I found out about the BRZ I ended up buying.

earthsscum 07-07-2012 11:42 PM

Seen 2 frs and numerous Hyundai Genesis that i have to double take..the easiest way to differentiate is knowing the colors but still they are similar from a distance until your closer and realize its a fat chick:bellyroll:

Aside from seeing them on dealer lots and car carriers, nope.

And shame on you for not being able to tell the difference between a GC and a BRZ. They don't look alike.

He did say "from a distance" and when I'm focused on driving all I notice from a distance is that it's a low slung looking car (head on) and from far enough, it even looks small! I've almost fallen for it a couple times.

Tman08 07-08-2012 10:20 PM

Saw two total, but both about 25 miles apart from eachother....though they were an FR-S, not BRZ...I'm confident though that by the time I get my BRZ, the numbers around me will be limited.

Chauntalei 07-08-2012 11:02 PM

I know there are a few of us in the SF Bay Area, but I've only seen one other BRZ/FR-S on the road, an SWP BRZ parked near 8th and Brannan in SF, right around the corner from my office.

WRXGuy1 07-08-2012 11:54 PM

Still have yet to see a BRZ or FR-S anywhere.

Shagaliscious 07-09-2012 12:00 AM

I've seen forum member @JAG on 2 different occasions in his BRZ, haven't seen another FR-S on the road though.

fistpoint 07-09-2012 12:10 AM

I live in the 4th largest city in the United States...the only one I've seen was at the dealership.

:(

if your near the coast there should be a few around you, texas, new england, cali and washington all have large allocations..

not necessarily bad just think of your car as rare for the time being

Symbiont 07-09-2012 05:38 AM

So many FR-S around here, but I have only seen 3 BRZs (and two of those were at meets).

Stu baru 07-09-2012 09:08 AM

I have yet to see one in the wild, but my wife saw a silver one in Bainbridge Township near the 422/306 exit. She couldn't say whether it was a BRZ or Scion, it was at distance, just that it looked great.

BoxeRZ 07-09-2012 12:32 PM

Have yet to see either, THANK GOD! Not sure how I would react to that since mine is scheduled for Aug. delivery.
Co-worker on the other hand saw 3 BRZ's on the way to up-state New York for the 4th.

BRaZinDave 07-09-2012 04:47 PM

I just posted a new thread-oops! But I was just at the Outerbanks, NC for a week and didn't see a BRZ or a FR-S. Thought for sure I would.
