Good Price for used BRZ?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking at a 2014 WRB Limited Subaru BRZ, 32K miles, clean carfax. Manual Transmission. I'm in Texas. The dealership "certified" the vehicle, meaning it now has a powertrain (engine and transmission) $0 deductible warranty until January 2021. But I also get a 1.5% interest rate on the loan. The best price they're willing to give me is $19,700, or $21,300 Out the Door (with Tax, Title, and License). What do you think of this deal? Thanks in advance for the insight! |

It's not bad for sure, but they can probably do a bit better. 32k miles is nothing to sneeze at.
Edit: which dealership? |
I think that price is good - does it look mod-free ? See if they can take off another $500 and call it a day.

Compare to other vehicles around your area (Auto trader is a good place to look). What is a good price in Houston my totally suck elsewhere or vice versa. The prices are very regional and not comparable across the country.

Thanks for the insight guys, I guess I'm just trying to make sure I'm not getting a bad deal or paying too much. I doubt I can sit and negotiate to the bottom of the barrel

No matter what you pay you will find people that paid less. Don't worry about what they paid since there will also be a pile that paid more. Circumstances vary. |
21,300 out the door is kind of high IMO. Most of the time the certified warranty is not a "real" warranty (check paperwork over) and you're getting close to the 36K Subaru warranty end.
A 2014 with high(er) miles like that should be in the higher 18's on a dealer lot. You should be able to negotiate a bit for this vehicle if you decide on it. |

Then there is this very optimistic dealer: |

True, the drift mode isn't as good as the focus RS's. |

Any interest in a modified car?
|
cars.com is a great source to look. You can usually get a great deal if you are willing to travel a bit and deal with the out of state hassles.
|
Depends on how much you want to look and how far you want to go.
I just sold mine for $16k flat. Yes I tracked it, yes I had mods, but the car (after putting it back to stock) drove just like the day I got it and still drives like a dream. At the end, just find a dealer or seller willing to disclose everything. Even minor mods or tracking isn't going to hurt the car. -alex |

[quote=Tcoat;2718939]A 10 second search for BRZs shows there are not many around the area. 15s with about the same mileage are going for $20K(ish) though so a 13 should be a little lower.
I think he said the object of his desire is a MY2014, so the dollar slide goes back up a little. My info is probably worth little, but my 2014 Limited manual had an asking price last October of 23,000 USD with 6800 on the ODO, immaculate and with every extra in the book. For our area, I thought it was an OK price, so I paid it and have been happy ever since. I saw a MY2013 with 39,000 miles on it which looked every mile of it, too. They asked 20,000 USD, but I walked. Good luck, and you're right not to try to squeeze the last dollar out of the deal. Do what makes you feel okay about the purchase, and happy sliding. |

"Get the seller's phone number !?!?" I think you'd do better to get his rap sheet . That crook shouldn't be walking around picking people's pockets! |

I drove 3 hours to buy my 13 BRZ. It was 2k less than what's around me, plus less mileage and it also has certified pre-own warranty. |
Good Price for used BRZ?
I just paid $18k for a 2014 Limited with 40k miles.
