Is there any interest in Forza Motorsports 6? I used to race with a group a while back and we had a lot of fun. If you guys wanna gather during the week to turn a few laps, I can host a room. Might even broadcast it if we get enough people.

Which Forza?

I've been playing Forza 3 recently in my downtime instead of being productive, was starting to get tempted to plop down $300 last night for an xbone, renewing gold for a year, and F6, but that's 6 autocross entries so, nah.

Enjoy, part of me misses it.

I've been watching this youtube channel to sate my interest (basically it runs in the background while I work), they do big community races with some unique rulesets like 'D class 4-doors' or 'A class movie cars', rather dry, incredibly niche, but better racing than the average F1 grand prix. Fun to watch different cars bang doors like Limo's against RX-3's.

Some of my favorite memories growing up were playing FPS with friends, a few mind blowing RPG's, and online racing games because the people were awesome. Tossing on a headset and chatting while banging doors with some dude across the country for an hour or two was great. Sure you get a couple knuckleheads who can't make one corner but they usually leave pretty quick.

@ Strat61caster: I'm on the other side of the fence for auto cross. I'd rather have unlimited runs in a sim instead of the real tarmac. If you change your mind, you know where to find me. :)

I got the G920 and Open Wheeler seat setup recently. Lots of fun getting that dialed in but I have very few cars and even fewer with decent tunes.

I have a FRS in B class that's a boat load of fun and could be a good spec series.

I'm actually playing forza 6 right now, having some fun in the GT endurance lobby.

I play Forza 6 solely for drifting. If you want to do that, I'm SGT Striker X.

I mean I get what you're saying, but comparing the two just makes me think you've never experienced the real thing...

Lets put it this way, $300 for an Xbone, or $200 for two hours on track at Laguna Seca?

Not to take a side as it's not up to me what anyone does with their money but.....

One of these is $100/hr of crazy fun and the other works out to a few cents/hr for a generally good time in the long run. Pretty much an apples and oranges kind of comparison.

I'd love to join but I'm only in the sony camp at the moment. Can't wait for the new GT (Gran Turismo) to come out though. AAA level driving sim in full VR. Cant Wait.

I promise I'm not comparing the two. It's just a choice I made after taking my bike to the track. It was great fun, but the cost was too high to only go for a day. I'll never poke fun at track peeps. I've got a lot of respect for your tenacity. :burnrubber:

I found a couple invites last night, accepted/added and then hunted down the respective times in Class Rivals. About halfway through D class I got an invite for some private racing with EXOR. Good group of guys.

I'll be on again and looking for some FT86 fans Saturday night.

I had the most fun of my life in a car on the track.

For the entire year of ownership of my Corvette the only time I ever felt like I used it even close to 80% of its capability was when I had it on the track.

It was so good it made me realize what a waste it was just driving it back and forth to work, and is part of the reason why I dont have it anymore.

This is why I bought another car to daily. Once I drove my FRS on the track I couldn't slow down. lol. Every where I went I wanted to be flat out and if I wasn't I was bored. lol

Silly as it is, I don't remember my user name on my xbone. But I'd be down for some FM6 occasionally. TBH I got quite bored of it for a while, but started playing again. But I don't bother driving the 86 in-game. It just isn't the same. Also their mod options are terrible. hehe

I think I need to get the audio adapter thing for my controller so i can use a headset from my 360, but not sure how it all works with the steering wheel as well.

Also, I found that when I start the game from my wheel I can connect the X1 controller and the cheapo headset that came with the X1. Then the party chat automagically works.

B and C class. great suggestions. Since its only time attacks for the moment there shouldn't be much collisions.

Same here. I play Forza 6 every now and then, but primarily drifting. We have a small of group of people that all tandem together.

Occasionally do some Touge class stuff and play cat and mouse on a few select tracks, but that's it.

Whenever Forza Devs decide to pull their heads out of their asses and remake Fujimi Kaido, I'd love to spend hours tandeming with all of you... Until then, Rocket League it is.

So here we go. This week, if you guys can find time. Lets get a base line of who's the quickest around a track. This is just a little hot-lap kinda thing. I trust we're not all a bunch of cheating dirt-bags so post your clean laps by Saturday night 8pm Central.

No upgrades?! Whoa! Game ON! :) I'm glad I finally figured out the secret to this steering wheel thingy. For awhile everything was entirely un-driveable..

Also, I have "circuit" builds in C/B/A with various cars (no leaderboard cars like the 63 beetle). My favorite speed cars are C/B as they allow you to race closely more consistently without making contact. If I see you guys online (or you see me), feel free to invite to a lobby or private match.

I got Lickwid and Takumi on my list but I think I may be missing others.

I will give Catalunya a shot with a bone stock frs tonight.

Anyone else notice how ridiculously long the trans gearing is in forza? I always edit my gearing to duplicate the actual gears from the FRS. It makes it much more realistic. My shift points are almost perfect to when I real life track my car now.

I'm in Hawaii, so unfortunately I'm not on on Saturday till essentially midnight for east coasters.

But I'm also usually racing Sunday all day also.

Had a good run with rice last night. We started out with a grid of drivatars and ended up with just he and I battling. Our pace was similar but our corner technique differences created small gaps. It wasn't until the last race that he discovered I was using the braking line. I apologize for that, its safer to run that way in public lobbies.

So we hit up Watkins Glen after that correction and the race was even closer.

Forza guys, should check out Assetto Corsa once the 86 becomes available as DLC later on this year.... FINALLY, a realistic driving simulator for console. Still bugs and patches they are working on (online racing is not where it needs to be yet) so I would give them until October, when the new patch irons things out. Now have motivation to get a proper FFB wheel for the X-Box One....

Forza is okay, but the driving aspect drives me crazy....can't stand it, so I don't play it. Project Cars does it much better, but still is slightly maddening. Assetto Corsa = really good driving experience with a controller on console. I can tell even from just using a controller so far that the driving is every bit as good as GTR2 racing simulation for PC is, which is my gold standard along with Richard Burns Rally. With a properly setup FFB wheel it should be an absolutely phenominal experience....

I just wish VR would be able to be used with the consoles some day, because what I've seen of Assetto Corsa on PC with the HTC Vive makes me want to look into getting another sim rig setup...
