Toyota UK recently had access to some private time with the FT-86 II Concept on location in Brussels. They've shared with us their beautiful studio photos and a video. Enjoy!

i see a little thing popping up in the center for the interior in the first pic! nevermind...its the side mirror from the other side. LOL.

yera 03-25-2011 01:41 PM

Yes! good eye.

Amazing lights for detailing :D nice photos and video!

whaap 03-25-2011 01:45 PM

Darth Vadar reborn.

funnybus3rd 03-25-2011 01:46 PM

not as beautiful as te first concept car , this is too show-off

vonreal 03-25-2011 01:48 PM

Hrmm.... I'm not sure if im feeling the concept 2... I think its "overdone" in regards to bodywork. The side grills are over kill for me. the concept 1 was simple and u can make it look like the concept 2 if u like how it looks like. I hope they come with a simpler version... when the actual production model comes out.

It's a little to "ricey" for my liking. Needs to be simple and sleeek!

Just my 2c people. thats all :D

ERA 03-25-2011 01:55 PM

shit looks tiny as hell with that dude in the picture.

b501 03-25-2011 01:58 PM

really feeling it. once they tone down the spoiler/bumpers for the production model i bet its going to look even better :happyanim:

where is the RWD no bs boxer.

It IS RWD.
Also, this is supposed to be an every mans sports car. Believe it or not, but the Vette is hugely expensive, at least here in Europe. Atless the Camaro will have a reasonable price when it comes out here, the FT-86 will have no competition.

I think that it's modern and agressive. Everything a sports car should be. What I've never liked is how many modern sporty cars look so dull.

Giccin 03-25-2011 02:26 PM

I'm still liking this car in white than in black. :)

Also... I spent the whole time in the video trying to figure out what camera they were using... :x

Really really sharp shots. :D Love it. /drools

C.44 03-25-2011 02:34 PM

I want all of these pics in hi-res. Lot's of desktop potential in them but they should be a little bigger.

SUB-FT86 03-25-2011 02:45 PM

This car has weird proportions in pictures. But I bet in real life it looks more sexier.

azian_advanced 03-25-2011 02:59 PM

the rear bumper sticks out like a black woman's behind. lol.
overall, the pics look great. toyota, we're still waiting on those interior pics dammit..

WingsofWar 03-25-2011 04:43 PM

man some haters in this thread, especially the new ***s.

I personally believe from a designers point of view that its a step in the right direction. I like the FT86-II over the FT86-I.

The one thing that im more upset about is how the T&S board made a note that the FT86-I wouldn't meet regulations, so they had to raise and push back the front making the body lines all weird and less sleek but more bubbly.I think they tried their best to compensate.

The market in styling is difficult because you have a small group of enthusiasts globally vs the global general market. If the idea was to market a bold sports car to an age group of 20-35, this design was it.

Performance wise, I think its got everything that it needs to be a contender against miata and genesis. Americans however will always want more power.

---

From a tuner/enthusiasts point of view...I think Toyota could do better or tone it down.
I like the FT86-I better over FT86-II.

xantonin 03-25-2011 04:58 PM

I like it.

No complaints here.

Actually just one. The front looks like it sticks out too much from the wheels. I see this being a problem when people lower the car...

fernan2 03-25-2011 05:06 PM

Like i said before, take the rear wing off and the car looks perfect!

BootpTraphik 03-25-2011 05:34 PM

I finally figured out what the front end reminds me of...

The Predator!

Part Predator and part Darth Vadar = fail.

4agze 03-25-2011 08:09 PM

Its growing on me, we need a wallpaper size of that pics. pls......

blur 03-25-2011 08:22 PM

Cant wait to drive it.. looks so exotic.

imma be gettin so mush azz wit dat riid3

I can't believe some of you guys are complaining about the various touches around the car. It's all coming out for the production version, luls. After all, this is a $20K car. I'd rather have that low weight turbo boxer 6 speed RWD than a car that looks mature to the automotive enthusiast. It will look like a blur to most people anyway, luls

I was thinking the same thing! Angle aside, that Brit must be tall or that car is a micro machine.

btw, we have those same lights they used in the studio here at work; Arri 650 Plus! Good lights! :happy0180:

4agze 03-25-2011 09:52 PM

Is it me or the FT86 is the most pictured and most anticipated concept of the year. Back in 2008 the nissan GTR was the picture whore concept now FT86 lol

It's hard to say because we are more interested in this car.

I tried asking some friends if they heard about the car but most didn't.

White for me. Inspected a LF-A wheel on Wed. the wheels in the FT-86 pictures look pretty close to the same style. I bet they will be a 2 to 3000.00 TRD upgrade. If it is released as a Scion, I'll see if they can get some TOYOTA UK, FT-86 badges del. to the U.S.

Matador 03-26-2011 05:21 PM

The more I try to warm up to the new version the more I miss the old one. It just refuses to grow on me. Everything behind the front wheels is just wrong, and the LEDs in the front bumper don't cut it. I do appreciate the aggressiveness, but why did they have to get rid of the downright good looks of the first concept?

This car looks fat too. Ick.

bls 03-26-2011 10:44 PM

Love LOve Love it/Hope it is not to expensive/what is the thought on price/thanks

Ashybone 03-26-2011 11:39 PM

I'm starting to not really like the way the back slopes down. It is really really round. I mean the rear pillars/rear windsheild. It kinda throws the car off as far as front to back. I'm probably the only one who thinks this but the car is still sexy. :D

I like them a lot too, they are awesome.

Rockstar 03-27-2011 07:52 AM

Lovin the new FT-86 II

This FT-86 II is really growing on me. I love the new more agressive style, it's brilliant! The only thing that bugs me is those LED lights on the front bumper... not a big fan of those lights, but doesn't bother me too much.

MMmmm I'd get this in white when it comes out. =p

XpLiCiT_CaShh 03-27-2011 07:39 PM

The more i look at the spoiler the more i want it to feel pain...:paddle:

Im gonna take it off, and im gonna take to it with a hammer.. Then im gonna jump on it.. Run it over with a 4Tonne roller.. Urinate on it.. then douse it with gas and flick a ciggie butt at it.
Hear me RAWR!!

Or you could make a little extra $$ and sell it to someone who wants it...:iono:

Ditto. Remember what was said about how this is what Toyota North America wants, more aggression. It's been 'Scionized'?

We will see. I've been going over the progression of the LFA concepts, and the final production model was the absolute best by far, so I'm hoping the same thing happens here.
