Trigun's Build

Hey, I just got the car and plan on doing quite a bit to it but don't know how quickly. Definitely have the mod itch though. I picked her up this past Friday and have been learning the ins and outs of the car as well as manual. Stay tuned for slow updates!

The day I got her! 6/24

for some reason your photos aren't showing up... but love the car. That blue almost made me go BRZ instead of FRS. Look forward to seeing the mods.

What header are you leaning towards?

trigun286 07-04-2016 08:22 PM

Not sure as of yet, I know I want UEL though. Borla looks and sounds nice.

I'm not a huge fan of the layout of the armrest/cupholders in this car as they are essentially one unit. I don't like how you have to keep the armrest open to access it. I keep the cupholder position closest to the shifter since my phone fits snugly between the cup holder and the edge of the cutout (where the cig lighter is). Also it allows me to put my water bottle there

It's been wayy too long since I updated this thread. I need to be better about updating it. Whoops! :bonk:
Right now, I'm sitting at ~6900 miles and still feels great. Currently running the Stage 1 93 tune off the OFT and can definitely feel an improvement. That heavy shift knob has also made shifting butter smooth and it's not as notchy anymore, which I prefer.

7/18 - Got the diode dynamics Always-on Module
7/21- Clear bra - Llumar Self-healing (Full bumper, 18in hood/fender, door edges) & Tint - Llumar CTX - 40 (All except front windshield)
8/9 - Perrin inlet tube for *cough* weight reduction, silly noise generator removal (pics incoming). Performed first oil change with Pennzoil Platinum Full Synethetic 5w-30 at ~1k miles
9/5- Got gorilla X2 wheel locks
10/10 - BRZ seat warmer plaque from a fellow member
11/27 - Exterior LEDs
  • Amber SMD2 Sidemarkers (waiting on clear sidemarkers to install)
  • HP36 Reverse LED
  • HP11 X 4 Amber Turn Signals
  • CF18 Flasher
11/28 - Bought some car detailing stuff from DetailedImage
12/7 - Got a baseline dyno done at Phantasm Motorsport
12/19 - Got the first Service done by the dealer of no charge filled up with 0W-20 Full Synthetic and performed a Tire Rotation
12/23 - Bought an OFT
12/25 - Got a Raceseng Creature shift knob for Christmas from my roommate
12/25 - Debadged the "Subaru" and "BRZ"

PIC DUMP!!

Switched to E85 and the butt dyno approves of moar power! There is one fairly close to my apartment (5 mi) so I haven't had issues of driving around town and panicking to refuel. Although, I roadtrip fairly frequently and tend to switch maps for those couple of days since E85 seems to be far and far between.

What made you want to go with this exhaust?

86Kai 03-18-2017 12:48 AM

It was the one I liked best out of all of them available tbh. It has that "mature" sound if you will.

EdBoy 03-20-2017 06:09 AM

nice build man, looking into that exhaust as well. How is the "mature" sound of it, no drone?

trigun286 07-16-2017 12:08 AM

It has been a while since my last update.

Things done :
Exhaust
Perrin trunk handle
Rexpeed hood dampers
Clear sidemarkers
Raceseng reverse lockout
Raceseng Orba cover

And a much needed wash!

Been too long since my last update.

Installed the RCE springs with 15mm spacers all the way around back in December. Was a PITA since I first messed up and didn't compress the springs fully and kept hearing knocking sounds. Had to redo the PF and the DR springs because of this. But overall it looked nice but the ride was a little firm.

Just installed my wheels and tires yesterday. Have noticed the ride is a lot cushier with the new wheel/tire setup as the ride isn't jarring over bumps/potholes.
