You get what you pay for. Especially with headers. Go with a reputable brand and these issues will not arise.

Never had any issues with any borla products at all. Just never seen any reputable vendor selling any JDL products.

JDL is a fantastic brand. Unless OP went with a sub $300 header he shouldn't have a problem.

However I doubt companies test fit each product before shipping out, so you may have ended up with a borked product :/

its not the OP that is the problem its like were the bolt meets the header to attach to the engine thats where they dont meet :( i get one side in and the other side dose not reach i tried putting them on half way and they still dont go up i tried putting back my oem header and it went up easily :(

jasonojordan 06-22-2016 10:09 AM

I just assumed they were like every other company that you have never heard of before. Only place ive ever seen them for sale is their own little site and ebay.

My bad when I said "OP" I meant Original Poster (you)

Yea if the header doesn't line up to your engine block you're just gonna have to return it :iono:

jasonojordan 06-22-2016 10:24 AM

Ive never seen their headers but I believe it was them anyways that had some catback systems on there or maybe it was JL not JDL lol either way ignore my comments I clearly have my head up my ass.

rns294 06-22-2016 10:27 AM

Never heard of that problem. I had to slide my uel slowly by sort of going back and forth on each side.

Try measuring from bolt to bolt across the block then measure the matching bolt holes on the header, if they are off by a lot then you have a problem. If they match then it's user error.

JDL is one of the top brands for this car..... and their headers aren't cheap anyways. Don't know what your post even means.:laughabove:

I believe like I said farther down in the thread that I had my head up my ass and had them confused with another company.

I read that, but....what other company? P&L maybe? That is the closest thing to confusion I could think of, but even that is a longshot.

jasonojordan 06-22-2016 12:31 PM

Thinking back I belive there was a ebay company a couple years ago called J2 that was making exhaust parts. So yea just a case of me putting my foot in my mouth here lol.

I've got the JDL header and don't have any popcorn sounds. Maybe check to see if it's hitting the skidplate. Also check OP clearance.
