Gold/Bronze Rims - Test Fitting?
Hey, just wondering if someone in the GTA has gold/bronze rims that I can have test fitted on my car. I would need to try on like 1-2 rims max.
Looking to see what red on gold/bronze actually looks like. I prefer multi-spoke OZ/Enkei style. Or, if you have a red brz/frs with gold/bronze rims than that makes things easier and I would just like to see them in person on a red twin. Thanks  |

Not too sold on the gold, but the bronze looks pretty sexy.

gold and red needs to be done right, or it'll look tacky like the very first photo above
this guy has it done right. @nomuken Just look at that gorgeous. https://monkeymagic86.files.wordpres...g?w=1240&h=742 |
Just do it!

I've got bronze ones... not sure when, but you could try them against your car sometime.

I want to try for fun, looks surprisingly good. Also how many coats? And thanks for the pictures guys...I think I'll plasti dip my stock first to get a real feel because I noticed some styles don't worry for me in gold, while some others look cool. Will try the simplest alternative first, plasti dip because I'm liking what i see. |

Just that angle was bad. But yeah awesome build!

The first picture looks tacky cuz the wheels are poking out and no stance. This is the same car now, could use some red Brembo caliper covers.

But I think that looks horrible. The "gold" diffuser kit, the black vinyl'd section on the trunk... There's just way too much going on. It's very busy. Again, to each their own. If the driver is happy with his car, more power to him! The wheels don't look bad though; I guess I should mention that since it's kind of the focal point of this thread LOL. |
Not my car, but in a pile of pictures I've taken over the years:

A friend of mine from Montreal has a good hook up as he does a bunch of plasti dip work. Just shop around locally for the best prices.
The Vintage Gold is a metallic and costs more. Send me a message and I can give you some pro tips :) |

Red and gold are a great combo, particularly for cars like Imprezas/WRX.
For some reason, it doesn't have the same punch on our cars though - although the concave rims do seem to work better with it. Word of advice if you plastidip: Lay down more layers of black (I'd go 5-6 layers) before you hit it with gold metalizer or vintage gold dip. I did my PF-01 with gold metalizer, and it had a slight green tinge to it under some lighting conditions, but because I didn't hit it with enough black (the gold metalizer is very thin - almost like glossifier), it was much harder to remove than it should have been (I spent a few hours with a bottle of Goo Gone trying to get it all off). Here are some pics of the dipped rims (clean and dirty - the dip attracts dust and sand) |
