Took the old 86 rallying this weekend.

I don't know if many of you here enjoy subjecting your FRS to abuse but I certainly do. If you ever get the hankering to try rallycross with it, I highly recommend it. Crazy good fun and wasn't as hard on the car as you'd think.

Here's a video of my best run: https://youtu.be/wQmfOQoRaMI

That's an insanely cool photo! I'd be too worried about scratching the paint work.

Looks like great fun.. Is there a min clearance height to ride or its at your own risk?

That's how I learned to slide around a corner by breaking the rear end loose!

It's a drive at your own risk type of thing.

I seen you car there, nice driving. My friend and I got some nice pics hopfully Ill have some of yours to post soon.

Looks great. I have been active in RallyCross for a few years, and enjoy it a little more than autocross.

I wrote a RallyCross novice guide if anyone wants to get involved:

I don't RallyCross my FR-S (rather the SE-R below), but I have seen several 86's at events. I think the car is definitely competitive in the RWD categories. It has limited slip, plenty of power for loose surfaces, and is reasonably small/light.

Awesome man! I'd really appreciate it.

I didn't really expect to be competitive (and I wasn't) given it was my first rallycross and on street tires.

I'm already registered for the two day even next month but will be in a car I bought dedicated for rallycross. 2004 Saturn Ion Quad Coupe. Will be able to be a big more merciless on that car than I was on the FRS.

Where you out there driving or just spectating?

Clipdat 05-24-2016 12:43 PM

Nice SE-R!!!

I'd love to do it. I just cant afford it.

Great pic. I love rallycross too, but I don't think I can afford to put my BRZ through the abuse of rallycross. But I take my mazda 3 for rallycross and tsd rallies.

Added a video from the morning runs. The course was tighter with more variable surfaces.

Plus some sweet free metal
